How to search telegram channels

▷How to Find Telegram Channels【2022】- Coco Solution

Telegram channels are a great choice to share everything you can think of ✅

How to find Telegram channels is one of the most searched queries on web search engines. Indeed, new Telegram users are usually very lost when using this open-source service that allows them to instantly send almost everything.

Telegram was launched back in 2013 by the Russian brothers Nikolai and Pavel Durov with the aim to shelter users “from unnecessary influence” and protect them from governmental data requests. This is a big difference with other social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, among others.

This messaging app has its focus on speed and security. Moreover, it’s superfast, simple, and free. One of its best features is that it can be used on all devices at the same time – messages sync seamlessly across any number of computers, tablets, or phones.

Telegram make possible the sending of messages, pictures, videos, and files of any type (doc, zip, mp3...), as well as the creation of groups for up to 200,000 people or channels for broadcasting to unlimited audiences.

Telegram is, essentially, like SMS and email combined. Even more, it can take care of all personal or business messaging needs. In addition to this, this platform support end-to-end encrypted voice calls.

What is a Telegram channel?

Before knowing how to find Telegram channels, it’s really important to know them. They are a form of one-way messaging where only admins can post messages. In addition, any user can create and subscribe to channels that can be created for broadcasting messages to unlimited subscribers.

Channels on Telegram can be publicly available with an alias and a permanent URL, so any user can join. Anyone who join a channel can see the entire message history. Users can join and leave channels at any time. Depending on a channel's settings, messages can be signed with the channel's name or with the username of the admin who posted them.

Even more, non-admin users can’t see other users who've subscribed to the channel and can mute a channel, so the user will still receive messages, but won't be notified. Admins can give permission to post comments on the Telegram channel with help of bots. The admin of the channel can obtain general data about the channel.

Differences between Telegram channels and groups

It can be confusing, but there are many differences between channels and groups on Telegram.

Telegram groups

On one hand, Telegram groups are perfect for sharing stuff with friends and family or collaboration in small teams.

Furthermore, they can also grow very large and support communities of up to 200,000 members. Any group can be made public and persistent history to control whether or not new members have access to earlier messages can be changed.

Administrators with granular privileges can also be appointed and important messages to the top of the screen so that all members can see them can be pinned, including those who have joined recently.

Telegram channels

On the other hand, Telegram channels, as said before, are a tool for broadcasting messages to large audiences. Not in vain, a channel can have unlimited subscribers. When posting in a channel, the message is signed with the channel's name and photo.

Every message in a channel has a view counter that gets updated when the message is viewed, including its forwarded copies.

How to find Telegram channels?

Normally, people create channels that revolve around certain subjects of interest such as football, cinema, cooking and other hobbies that users want to keep up to date with. They can be public or private. If the channel is public, anybody can find it on the app whereas if the group is private, access is allowed through an invitation sent by a member of the channel.

Finding public channels on Telegram

There are three ways to find a public channel if it has already been created.

Global search

  1. Click on the search icon in the top right corner of the app, with a magnifying glass logo.
  2. Use a keyword of what you want to see such and several channels will appear with the bullhorn logo next to it.
  3. Tap on the desired channel.

With a forwarded message

If one user sends a file from a certain channel to the other, then this user can access it if it’s public.

  1. Find the chat where the file was forwarded.
  2. Tap above the file. The next message is showed “Forwarded message from ... (this will include the name of the channel)”.
  3. Click on this text and Telegram will redirect to that channel.

Through lists and bots

If the user doesn’t know the channel’s name, there are many websites that offer directories in order to search for the exact channel.

Finding private channels on Telegram

Private channels won’t appear in searches or channel lists, so other methods are required. Usually, the channel ID will be required to enter it. Thus, it’s necessary to ask a channel member the URL.

In short, the answer to how to find Telegram channels is not so difficult. Just follow this clear Coco Solution’s blog article to search everything that you were looking for in this complete platform.

These groups exist on other platforms, but they are very active on Telegram. If you want to get more likes, comments, and shares on Instagram, you can join a Telegram Engagement Group and get tips on promoting others and getting more engagement on your account.

There are many ways to find Telegram engagement groups, but the best option is to look for them online and find the one that works for you.

How to Find All Telegram Groups

Countless Telegram groups are available, and users are continually creating new ones. It would be impossible to find them all. You can search for groups based on your interests via channels or browse for them online.

As a Telegram user, you can create up to 10 Telegram groups where you can add or remove other users. You can find the list of all your groups when you open Telegram on the home screen.

When you join Telegram for the first time, you might be confused about all the channels and groups. Soon, you’ll realize that there are so many different groups you can join. Some of them are called supergroups due to the number of people who have joined them.

It’s impossible to find them all, but it is easier to do if you know what you’re doing. There are many Apple users or Netflix fan groups on Telegram. You’ll likely be able to find a few that fit your interests as well.

Telegram Group Finding FAQs

What is a Telegram group versus a channel?

Telegram offers users the option to join groups or channels.

Channels are essentially chats that allow an unlimited number of users, participants can’t see other members, and there isn’t a lot of communication between users.

Groups are more exclusive, allowing only 200,000 members. Telegram Groups show you a list of members and let you interact with them.

It’s easy to tell the difference between the two based on the online status and member count (if there are more than 200,000, it’s a channel). If you see the number of participants at the top of the conversation, you’re in a Telegram group.

Channels are also a lot easier to find than Groups. Typically, the former gets found with a simple search. The latter, however, get found by word-of-mouth, on other platforms, or from within Telegram Channels.

How do I find nearby groups in Telegram?

You can use the “People Nearby” feature on Telegram to find local groups to join. Here’s how:

1. Open Telegram on your mobile device and then tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left corner.

2. From the menu on the left, select People Nearby.

3. If there are any local groups in your area, you’ll see them listed. Tap on the group to join.

How to find a Telegram channel How to find a person in Telegram

The other day we saw a powerful channel for work in Telegram, but don’t remember what it’s called. Or you want to find new channels on a topic that is important to you. Or you met a person at a business meeting and want to “add a contact”, but did not take his business card. If you have experienced similar situations related to Telegram, but you are not very friendly with the messenger itself, this instruction is for you.

I analyze 5 ways to find a channel and the same number of ways to find a person in Telegram.

A bit about "telegram" terms.

A channel and a Telegram group are two different things. Channel is like a blog. And group is like a chat. In this collection, I’m talking only about channels.

Username . For a person, this is what comes after @ (also called a username) - @kaktus. For a channel, this is what comes after t.me (also called a link) - t.me/kaktus. The username is unique, two identical ones cannot be found in Telegram.

Title/name. This is what we see in the contact line when we read a channel or communicate with a person. The channel in my example may have the following name - "Cactus Life" . And a person has such a name - "Katerina Tusova." The title/name is not unique, there can be several of them in Telegram.

Username and name/name of the same channel or person do not always match.

How to find the Telegram channel

1. Through the search in Telegram

Standard search is a box with the word "search" or a magnifying glass at the top of the screen. The method works both on the phone and on the computer.

Pros:

  • Easy to use.
  • You can find a channel if you only know the first letters of the username/title.
  • One and the same word can be entered in Russian, transliteration, lowercase or uppercase letters - and it will be found. That is, it will not happen that you entered “MARKETING‎”, but there was nothing in the issuance - “Marketing” Telegram will also show.

Cons:

  • The search is limited - in the general search (channels to which you are not subscribed) there are only 10 results.
  • Telegram shows unnecessary results - for example, not channels, but people. You have to filter a lot.
  • Only public channels can be found, not private channels (you can get there by invitation only).

How to use:

  • Enter the channel name or username in the search box.
  • Or enter a part of the title/username - the beginning or whatever comes after the bottom space.

2. Through the bot in Telegram

@SearcheeBot can find channels by username, title and subject, in total there are 2.1 million channels in the database. The bot is connected to TGStat, the largest catalog of Telegram channels. Works in four languages, including English.

Pros:

  • Dozens of categories of channels on topics - from humor to startups.
  • The search shows the number of channel subscribers - this can be a clue if you know the approximate number of subscribers in the channel you are looking for.
  • The bot sees both public and private channels.

Cons:

  • The directory is filled in by users, so some channels may be abandoned, strange, of poor quality.
  • According to reviews, the bot does not even find fairly large channels.

How to use:

  • Go to @SearcheeBot .
  • Follow his instructions.

3. In special catalogs

There are catalogs of Telegram channels on the Internet, in the application itself, and even on VKontakte (although I didn’t find any active ones). There are dozens of directories, and hundreds of channels inside them. In general, an extensive search field.

Here are some up-to-date and informative catalogues.

Telegram directories:

  • Chagram.
  • Katalo4eg.

Internet catalogs:

  • TGStat. (The same one that @SearcheeBot is based on.)
  • Tlgrm.
  • Telegrator .

Pros:

  • A good chance to find the right channel if you look at several directories.
  • In some directories, you can see channel statistics - useful if you want to advertise.
  • If you can't find the right channel, you can discover similar ones (by theme, style or other parameters).
  • Channel can be searched by category, language, country, description, subject. In addition, you can search for the publications themselves - it is convenient if you remember some of the wording from the post.

Cons:

  • Some directories have very few channels.
  • Some channels may not be up to date.
  • Some directories have an overloaded interface - it will be difficult to figure it out right off the bat.
  • Some Telegram directories can only be searched by @username.

How to use:

  • Enter the catalog.
  • Enter a name, username or keywords into the search bar.
  • If nothing is found, search by category and other filters.

4. In thematic collections

You can open industry media (thematic blogs) and search for collections of Telegram channels there. For example, for IT it can be habr.com, for entrepreneurs and marketers - vc.ru, for fitness enthusiasts - the-challenger.ru.

Pros:

  • Suitable if you forgot the exact name of the channel and remember only the subject or keywords.
  • Similar interesting channels can be found.

Cons :

  • There are usually few channels in the collections - 10, 15, 20.
  • The search may take a long time.

How to use:

  • Enter the site on the topic you need.
  • Drive a similar combination "selection of telegram channels keyword/subject" into the site's search engine.

5. In search engines (Google, Yandex and others)

There are two ways to search.

Write in the search bar everything you remember about the channel - an approximate name, username, words from the description, words from messages. By the way, here are some useful tips that will make your Google search easier. If there are few results, most likely you can open more by clicking "‎show hidden results".

Or type "t.me/" into the search engine, and after the slash - the intended username or channel name. In Russian or English - it doesn't matter.

Pros:

  • Even absurd requests can "fire".
  • There may be many channels on the desired topic in the search results.

Cons:

  • It takes a lot of time and effort to study different sites.
  • As a result, efforts may be futile.

How to use:

  • Enter the search engine.
  • Enter a request.
  • Explore sites that seem relevant.

How to find a person in Telegram

1. By phone number

The easiest way. But in order to use it, you must first save the phone number.

Pros:

  • Search is easy.
  • You can search both from your phone and from your computer.

Cons :

  • Suitable only if you know the number and it is not hidden from the person.
  • If you make a mistake in at least one digit, you won't be able to find it by number.

How to use:

Enter the phone book and write down the number. If the person is on Telegram, this will be displayed in the contact information.

Or open Telegram on your phone, and then choose:

  • Click on the three horizontal lines at the top of the screen, go to contacts and, by clicking on the plus icon, write down the person you need.
  • Or click on the three horizontal lines at the top of the screen, go to contacts and click "Invite Friends".
  • Or enter a number that starts with the country code into the Telegram search box. The line "Add number" will appear - go to it and enter a contact.

And in Telegram on a computer, you can click on the three horizontal lines at the top of the screen, go to contacts and enter (find) the number.

2. By username in Telegram

Username is the same unique name that starts with @. If you know him, you have almost found the person.

Pros:

  • It's very easy to find a person if you know their exact username.
  • The request can be entered both in Russian and in transliteration - the results will be the same.

Cons :

  • Accuracy is important in the method - if you make a mistake on a character, the search will not give results.
  • Suitable only if the person filled in the "Username" line and did not hide it.

How to use - three options:

  • Drive a username into the Telegram search engine - with or without @, it does not matter.
  • Enter the beginning of the nickname (from two characters).
  • Drive in the part of the nickname that follows the bottom space.

3. By first name/surname in Telegram

Here you need to know the first and last name or just the last name. Because it is almost impossible to find by name, especially a common one.

Pros:

  • The method will help out if you do not know the phone number or username.
  • If the surname is rare, you can even find it by its beginning.

Cons :

  • There are only 10 contacts in the general search.
  • Telegram shows mostly popular people, so this method is more suitable for finding influencers.

How to use:

  • Enter your first and last name, or just the last name, or the beginning of the last name into the Telegram search engine.
  • If nothing was found, experiment with the full, abbreviated and diminutive (and suddenly) name.

4. In social networks and instant messengers

For this method, you need to know the person's username (intended username) or last name/first name. Ideally, the person should be in your friends or subscriptions. The bottom line is to drive this information into other platforms and through them try to find out how a person is recorded in Telegram.

Pros:

  • The method will help if the person you are looking for has the same usernames in all social networks and instant messengers.
  • Searching is easy if a person has a rare surname.

Cons:

  • More suitable for popular personalities.
  • Many inappropriate results will have to be filtered out.
  • A person may not be happy if you knew him in one place (VKontakte), but write in another (Telegram).

How to use:

  • Log in to the social network, enter a username, first/last name or keywords that relate to this person. Go to the person's page and, if there is a link to Telegram, follow it. If there is no link, you can try to copy the number and search for it in Telegram.

If you know a person's contact on the social network, immediately go to his page, copy the username or first / last name and enter it in the search engine in Telegram.

5. In search engines (Google, Yandex and others)

In fact, the method is similar to the one above. Only here, information known about a person needs to be entered not into a social network or messenger, but into a search engine.

Pros:

  • It's easy to find a person with a rare last name, first name or username.
  • You can try to search for any information known about a person: hobbies, age, favorite movie.

Cons:

  • More suitable for finding popular users.
  • There can be many unnecessary results in the search results - up to items that are consonant with the last name.

How to use:

Go to the search engine, enter the last name (first name, username, keywords) and "Telegram".

Or go to a search engine, type "t.me/", and after the slash, the intended username of the person.

Finally, a few less popular ways:

  • Through pictures in Yandex or Google . You need to enter a description of the person or upload a similar photo.
  • Through browser history . The method is suitable if you went to the channel you liked through a search engine or saw the right person on some site.
  • Via Telegram location . You need to click on the menu on the right "People nearby" - a list of people and organizations within a radius of 500 meters from you will appear.

The Telegram apps for desktop and smartphone have a search function that can be used to find messages, chats, and channels. To do this, enter the name or keyword in the search bar. The results will appear below, and to go to the channel and subscribe, just click on it.
