How to schedule a post on facebook group 2020

How To Schedule Posts on Facebook Groups Effectively

You might have created a Facebook Group to build a community for your business. It’s a place where you can connect with like-minded people and have conversations related to your industry. However, posting actively in the group can be time-consuming – all those tasks of setting reminders and posting manually along with managing other social media platforms just don’t make the cut anymore. Luckily, you’ve got the option to schedule posts on Facebook groups!

You can do this without using a third-party social media scheduler tool, but the scheduling options will be just basic. You will not get the option to bulk schedule posts, and the feature is hidden a few layers deep in the Groups interface.

We’ll take you through both the options: How to schedule posts on Facebook Groups from the FB interface as well as using a social media scheduling tool.

Grouping via Facebook groups is the way to go!

Easy scheduling of posts on Facebook groups for engagement, only with RecurPost.

How to schedule posts on Facebook groups natively

  • Go to the Group on which you want to schedule a post.
  • Start by writing your post by clicking on the ‘What’s on your mind’ button.
  • Write the description you want, add media or hashtags, and then click on the calendar icon at the bottom-right corner.
  • Select the date and time when you want your post to be published and click on ‘Schedule’. Your post is now scheduled and will go live as per the timings set.

Need to make changes? Follow the below steps.

  • Go to your Facebook group and navigate to the ‘Scheduled posts’ section from the left-hand side panel. Here you’ll see all the posts that you have scheduled.
  • From here, you can reschedule your post or upload it instantly. To edit or delete the post, click on the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear. Here you will get a lot of other options like ‘Turn off commenting’ and ‘Turn of translations’.

This feature works great when you have to schedule a one-off post. But, what if you have to schedule multiple posts at once? What if you have to schedule Facebook posts on groups that go out in a recurring manner? What if you want to schedule posts on Facebook groups as a Page and not a profile? Or, what if you want to schedule posts to both your Facebook groups and page at the same time?

Well, to be able to all these, you need a social media scheduling tool. And out of the very few tools providing this functionality, the best is RecurPost.

Let’s see why you should choose RecurPost and how you can use its Facebook Post Scheduler.

Why use RecurPost as your Facebook post scheduler?

RecurPost provides a lot of features that will win you over while choosing a tool for scheduling posts on Facebook groups, business pages, or personal profiles. But before knowing about the features, you must know how to create Facebook page for business.

  • Support for multiple platforms: RecurPost lets you schedule posts to multiple Facebook groups, pages, and profiles. Apart from that, it also provides support for Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and GMB.
  • Bulk scheduling: Using this feature, you can plan and schedule tons of posts in advance for multiple Facebook groups, profiles, and pages. You can upload content in bulk with social media bulk scheduling through CSV files by importing it from social accounts or other websites (RSS feeds).
  • Unlimited content libraries: Libraries allow you to create a dedicated space for the content of each Facebook account separately. This further keeps your social media calendar organized and lets you easily differentiate the content that will go out on FB profiles, pages, or groups.
  • Auto-schedule for best time: This feature will let you post the right content at the right time on your FB accounts. Simply select the option of ‘Auto-schedule for best time’ while scheduling a post. RecurPost will then study the engagement received on your previous posts and automatically schedule your content for the best time to post on Instagram, Facebook ads, and other sites.
  • Schedule repeating Facebook posts: You can add content in your libraries and set a recurring schedule, which will make all the posts in that library go out on your social accounts in a loop. Repeatedly posting your social updates at regular intervals gives them new life, helps you reach more people, gains you more leads, and increases your overall sales.
  • Schedule posts on Facebook groups as admin or member: RecurPost supports posting on a Facebook group that you administer as well on the groups that you are a member of, a feature not provided by any other social media scheduling tool.

After creating your account, you will be taken to the dashboard. Here, you will see the button saying ‘Add social accounts’.

Click on it and a pop-up will appear. Under the Facebook section, there will be three options: Profile, Page, and Group.

Click on ‘Add Group’ and you will be taken to the login screen, if you are not already logged in to your Facebook account from your browser. Click on ‘Continue’ and you’ll be directed back to RecurPost, where you will see a list of all the groups that you administer and the ones that you are a member of.

Also, below each group name, you will see the option of ‘Post as’. By default, you’ll be posting from your profile. But, if you want to post as a page, you can do that too. To know-how refer to this guide. Also you can check how to change group name on Facebook.

2. Create a one-off post

A one-off post is an update that will be shared on your account just once. On the dashboard, click on the ‘Share a post’ button.

In the pop-up that appears, you can create your one-off post. Fill in all the details –  add description/caption, attach images/video or create a graphic directly from Canva, add hashtags, include emojis, and select the Fb group that you want to post on.

Now, you can either upload the post instantly or schedule it for a later date and time. To schedule, toggle the ‘Schedule for later’ button on, and select the date and time as per your requirements. Alternatively, you can choose ‘Auto-schedule for best time’ and let RecurPost find the best time to post on Facebook for you. it is also one of the most preferable mavsocial alternatives in the market.

After adding all the details, your post will look something like this:

Hit the ‘schedule’ button and you’re done.

3. Create content libraries

Libraries allow you to categorize your posts neatly into different spaces. Think of them as folders on your device. You can fill them up with awesome content and set a recurring schedule to make all that content go out in a loop on your FB group and other social accounts too.

When you sign up, 3 libraries will be created by default. You can either use them or delete them and create new ones. To create a new library, go to the Libraries menu and click on the ‘Add new library’ button.

While creating a new library, you will be required to set three things: Name of the library, color of the library, and whether it will be one-time use or recurring library. Keep in mind that the updates you add in a one-time-use library are not recurring in nature and will expire once posted on your social accounts.

4. Add content in libraries

Click on the name of the library that you wish to add content to. Inside the library, you will find a lot of options to add recurring updates. You can add a single update, add images/text/link posts in bulk, add content through a CSV/excel file, import content from a social account, or set up an RSS feed.

For updates in your library, you can also select whether you want to keep them as drafts until a certain date. These updates will basically be on stand-by until their ‘release date’.

After the release date, they will start going out to your social accounts recurringly according to your schedule.

You can also choose to make these updates stop going out to your social accounts after a certain ‘expiry date’. After the expiry date, your update will expire and will go to a separate content library named ‘Expired Content’.

If you want a post to go out next before any other post from a library, you can click on ‘Make it the next post to go out’ button.

5. Add recurring schedules

After adding content in libraries, you need to set a recurring schedule so that the added posts start going out on your social accounts. Go to your library and navigate to the ‘Your Schedule’ tab, and click on the ‘Add recurring schedule’ button.

Here, you can set the frequency at which the posts added to your library will be uploaded on your FB group. Choose an option between weekly or monthly cycles, set the time, and hit the ‘Add Schedule’ button.

That’s all! You now know how you can schedule posts on Facebook groups using RecurPost!

How is Convosight’s Post Scheduler different from Facebook Group Post Scheduler?

Let’s first look at the Facebook group post scheduler.

To access it, you have to go to the ‘Create Post’ section, write your post, and click on the calendar icon, right beside the post button.

Go on to select the date and time at which you want to schedule post in your Facebook group. Hit schedule.

As you can see above, Facebook group post scheduler gives you a long list of dates and timings to schedule your post.

It sure is easy, but you don’t get to know about the best times to post in your group.

You need to figure out the best time to post in your Facebook group yourself by referring to group insights.

Under the Engagement tab as part of the ‘Insights‘, you’ll see two separate graphs for popular days and popular times.

The above graphs not only seem overwhelming but are also difficult to process.

Looking at the popular days’ graph, I can tell that very few conversations happen in our community on Thursday followed by Saturday. On the other hand, Wednesdays are the best followed by Fridays.

However, when I look at the popular times graph, it’s hard to comprehend the exact best time to post. All the timings are rounded off, i.e. 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, and so on.

Which means it’s an estimated time frame that Facebook has given.

That’s where Convosight’s Post Scheduler plays its part.

As mentioned above, it gives you the exact best times to post for every single day.

And the content formats that members engage with the most in your group.

This means:

  • No complicated data to process, breakdown, and use
  • Easy and convenient to schedule posts without worrying about maximum engagement
  • Ample time is saved

In addition to that, Convosight’s Post Scheduler gives you content suggestions, pre-defined templates to get started with, and a long list of emojis to make your content more consumable.

Besides, it allows auto posting to multiple Facebook groups simultaneously.

That too, without getting blocked. Check out this blog to know how and everything else.👇🏻

What is Facebook jail and how to avoid it?

Not to forget the content suggestions and templates to help you get started!

This is why we call it the most powerful Post Scheduler for Facebook groups.💪🏻

If you haven’t yet added your Facebook group to Convosight, you can SIGN UP now.

While that’s about how to schedule Facebook group posts for free, (Yes, Convosight is free to use for all Facebook group admins) let me now share with you how you can track their performance.

On Facebook, you must refer to the ‘Post Insights’, available for every post done in the group.

Check the performance of the post by calculating the reach % and engagement %.

But first, you need to understand what each of the metrics under the performance section means.

  • Post Engagement: It refers to the number of times members engaged with your post by reacting, commenting, or sharing it.
  • People Reached: It refers to the (estimated) number of people who saw the post at least once.
  • Active members at the time of post: It is the number of people who were active in the group in the last 28 days from the day the post was published. A member is considered active in the group if they have viewed content in the group or via News Feed.

These are standalone metrics and you can track the actual performance of a post by calculating the Reach% and Engagement%.

Reach % can be calculated by dividing the number of people reached by active members at the time of post.

Engagement % can be calculated by dividing post engagement by people reached.

While on Facebook you have to calculate the post performance by yourself, the Convosight platform gives you every little detail of all your scheduled posts.

The next section explains how.

How to track the performance of posts scheduled through Convosight?

Through the Post Analytics feature.

1. Login to Convosight. From the homepage, click on the Facebook group you want to see scheduled posts for.

2. Select ‘Post Analytics’ from the features listed on the left side.

Here, it is 5. And below, it tells, that this number 5 is just 3% of the total posts done through Convosight as compared to the total posts done in the group, i. e. 196.

b. Activity Rate: This shows the average activity rate of posts done from Convosight’s Smart Scheduler vs other posts in the last 30 days.

Here, it is 60.2. Below it tells that posts done through Convosight got 108% higher engagement than the group average which is 29.

c. Impact: It tells the engagement gain by using Convosight’s recommended time to post based on increase inactivity rate.

90,000 how to plan a publication on Facebook

Hello, friends! In this article, I will tell you how to schedule a post on a Facebook page .

Post scheduling is an essential tool that every Facebook Page Manager should own. To keep the page growing and the public interested, ideally we need to post at least one piece of news every day. nine0003

Easy to say but harder to do! Each of us has a large number of tasks and problems that require immediate solutions, and Facebook is often not a priority. When you have absolutely no time to publish content, delayed posting will help you out in a difficult moment.

By the way, if you are just starting to promote on Facebook, be sure to take my free course "How to create an effective Facebook page", from which you will learn how to optimize a Facebook page, how to fill in information about it, plus a lot of interesting tricks, which will prevent you from making common mistakes on Facebook pages. nine0003

Well, we're moving on!

How do I schedule a post on a Facebook page?

It's very, very easy to make!

To schedule a post:

  1. Start posting at the very top of the timeline on your page;
  2. Click next to the " Publish " button ;
  3. Select " Schedule Publication " from the drop-down list;
  4. Select the date and time the post is to be posted; nine0100
  5. Click " Schedule ".

For more clarity, I recorded a short video in which I will show you how to schedule a post, as well as tell you where you can view all scheduled posts, how to edit a scheduled post, how to change the post date and how to delete it if you suddenly change your mind.

ATTENTION! In the native Facebook scheduler, you can schedule posts up to 6 months in advance with an interval of 5 minutes. nine0003

How do I schedule posting later?

Facebook, by the way, allows you to select a date in the past . If you select a date that has already passed, then the publication will appear immediately in the specified place in the timeline of your page, that is, not at the very top, but in the past. Therefore, if you want fans to see your post immediately, then you must, of course, choose either today or any other day in the future.

Can I schedule a post on my personal profile? nine0091

Please note that the official publication scheduler is only available on pages . You can't schedule posts for a personal profile. As far as personal profiles are concerned, I haven't seen any services that offer delayed posting for regular users. Therefore, alas, friends, you will have to publish it manually in your personal profile.

How do I schedule a post to a Facebook group?

As I wrote in the previous question, Facebook only allows you to schedule posts on business pages. If you need a Facebook group scheduling service, check out Hootsuite. Even better, check out the Russian-language service SMMPlanner, they just recently had the opportunity to post to groups! In general, there are very few services that post to Facebook groups, since it is technically difficult to do so. It seems to me that using SmmPlanner is more convenient than Hootsuite, but look and try it yourself. How to say "Taste and color" ... 🙂

If you know of any other services with which you can schedule a post in a Facebook group, please share the link in the comments. I think that for many it will be very interesting and useful!

Post scheduling with dedicated services

Too many page managers use Facebook's non-native post scheduling tools. These can be, for example, the popular foreign services Hootsuite and Buffer, or our relatives, who, in addition to world social networks. networks include our domestic ones, such as postso.com and smmplanner.com. nine0003

Some page managers say that the organic reach of scheduled posts is usually lower than manually published posts, i.e. Facebook shows such posts to fewer people than, for example, a post made in the usual way (write - published). To be honest, I didn’t notice such a problem, so I don’t think it’s worth paying attention to these conversations. If the publication is of high quality and interesting, then Facebook simply has no reason not to show it to users! I talk about how Facebook decides what reach a post will get in my course “How to beat the Facebook algorithm and increase the reach of publications?”.
