Instagram is undoubtedly one of the most powerful social media platforms to increase brand reach and drive new business — but it can be time-consuming and expensive to consistently create the type of high-quality content you need to see long-term results.   

Which is why reposting on Instagram is a powerful option for brands. 

But, unlike other social platforms, Instagram doesn't offer a native tool to repost. Fortunately, we've got you covered. Here, we'll show you four different free ways to repost on Instagram in a few simple steps. Let's dive in. (Interested in why brands should repost on Instagram? Skip ahead to that section.)

How to Repost on Instagram Using a Screenshot

  1. Take a screenshot of the Instagram post you want to use.
  2. Tap the new post button located on the top right corner, select post.
  3. Resize the photo in the app.
  4. Edit and add filters of your choice.
  5. Add a citation.
  6. Add a caption.
  7. Click share on the top right corner.

To repost someone else's Instagram post, it’s best to obtain permission first to ensure you are not infringing on someone else’s copyright or license.

Additionally, giving the creator credit for their work is recommended. Once permissions are squared away, repost using one of the methods below.

The screenshot method doesn't require other websites to repost on Instagram. It's worth nothing that this method only works for reposting photos, not videos.

Here's how to do it.

1. Find a photo on Instagram you'd like to repost, and take a screenshot with your phone.

  • For iOS: Press down on the home and lock buttons simultaneously until your screen flashes.
  • For Android: Press down on the sleep/wake and volume down buttons simultaneously until your screen flashes.

2. Tap the new post button.

Once you've got your screenshot, return to your Instagram account. Tap the "new post button" in the top right of your Instagram screen (the plus sign inside a square). 

Then select "Post" (other options include "Story" "Reels" or "Live"). 

3. Resize the photo in the app.

Keep in mind that your phone will take a screenshot of everything on your screen, not just the photo you want to repost. So, be prepared to crop the sides of the screenshot to capture just the image you want to share with your followers.

After you've cropped or resized the photo to your liking (by pinching the image and then widening your fingers apart), click "Next" in the top-right of your screen.  

4. Edit and add filters of your choice.

Edit and filter the post like you would any other Instagram post.

5. Add a citation.

The repost won't include a citation, so we suggest adding one by typing "@ + [username]" to credit the original poster with the photo you're reposting.

6. Add a caption.

At the top you'll see a preview of your post along with space for a caption. You can choose to tag people or organizations, and add a location.

7. Click share.

Once you've finished customizing the post with the options above, click share at the top right corner. The post will be live.

Instagram Reposting Apps

In addition to using the screenshot method, you can also use a third-party app. The options below are our favorite apps for reposting on Instagram.

Repost: For Instagram

1. Download Repost: For Instagram. 

Download Repost: For Instagram for iOS or Android. The app integrates directly with Instagram so you can share content from other Instagram users from your mobile device.

2. Identify a photo or video to repost.

Open your Instagram app and find a photo or video you'd like to repost from your own Instagram account. Tap your chosen photo from the original poster's photo gallery to see its full view, as shown below.

3. Copy the post's share URL to your clipboard.

Once you're on the photo's or video's landing page, tap the "..." icon in the upper-righthand corner of the post. Then, tap "Copy Link."

4. Open Repost: For Instagram.

Once the photo is copied to your phone's clipboard, open Repost: For Instagram. The post you copied will automatically be on the app's inbox, as shown below.

Tap the arrow on the right hand side of the post. There, you can edit how you want the repost icon to appear on Instagram. The app also allows you to add an Attribution mark directly on the image. 


You can choose to copy the original caption to your post or add a new one later.

Next, tap "Share." 

5. Select whether you want to post to your feed, your Story, or in a message.

For our purposes, we'll click "Post". 

6. Edit the post's caption and share your repost.

Write a caption and click "OK" when finished.

When you're ready to share the post, tap "Share" as you would a regular Instagram post.

Reposta

1. Download Reposta.

Download Reposta for Android or Apple devices to get started.

2. In Instagram, copy a URL of an image you'd like to repost.

Open your Instagram and copy-and-paste the URL like you did for the instructions for Repost: For Instagram (Step #3, above). 

3. Open Reposta to find your image.

Reposta automatically opens a URL once you've copied it. Now, in Reposta, you can edit the attribution (including the color and positioning), as well as the caption itself. 

4. Click "Post to Instagram". 

You'll see a few options below your image. For our purposes, choose "Post to Instagram". (Alternatively, you can save the image to use on a different date.) 

5. Select whether you want to post to your feed or Instagram Story. 

You have two options here: Story or Feed. Click "Feed". 

6. Next, crop your image like you normally would. 

Feel free to adjust the size or cropping of your image in this step. When you're ready, click "Next". 

7. Edit your image and apply filters from within the Instagram app. 

Here, you'll choose a filter and edit the image like you would any other Instagram image. When you're ready, click "Next".

8. Change the caption and re-post. 

Feel free to give credit to the image owner in your caption — but remember you've also given them credit in the image itself. Add a location and tag people if you'd like, and then click "Share" when you're ready. 

Here's how the post appears on your Instagram profile:


Using DownloadGram

DownloadGram lets Instagram users download high-resolution copies of Instagram photos and videos to repost from their own accounts. Luckily, there isn't an app you need to download to repost using this process. Here's how to do it:

1. Open Instagram and find a photo or video to repost.

Open your Instagram app and find the post you want to repost. Tap the "..." icon in the upper righthand corner of the post and click "Copy Share URL" (this button will be the same for both iOS and Android mobile devices).

2. Paste the post's share URL into DownloadGram.

Open your mobile internet browser and navigate to DownloadGram — or simply, downloadgram. org. Paste the URL into the text box that appears on the website's homepage. Then, tap "Download."

Tap the "Download Image" button that appears further down DownloadGram's homepage.

3. Download the post.

You'll be directed to a new webpage with the content ready to download. Tap the download icon — the box with an upward-facing arrow, as shown below — then tap "save image."

4. Open Instagram and find the photo or video in your camera roll.

Return to your Instagram app. The image will be saved to your phone's native camera roll, so edit it as you would any other Instagram post.

5. Add a caption and share your repost.

The repost won't include a citation, so we suggest adding one by typing "@ + [username]" to credit the original poster with the photo or video. Then, press "Share." Here's how the post appears on your Instagram profile:

Open the instagram app and find the photo or video you'd like to add to your story.

2. Click the paper plane icon at the bottom of the post.

3. Click "Add post to your story."

4. Personalize the draft post with stickers or text.

You should see a draft of your story. Use the icons at the top to modify text, color, stickers and other animations.

5. Click "Your story" in the bottom left corner.

You also have the option to click "close friends" on the right, bottom corner (shown above) if you only want a select group to view your story. 

Once you click "Your story" you'll see the option to click "Share" to repost your image to your Instagram Story. 

With stories, the same best practices should be followed as for sharing a post. If you don’t know the person and suspect the content you’d like to re-share might be licensed material, ask for permission first. Give credit to the original posters whenever possible.

Why should your brand repost on Instagram? 

First of all, it's important to understand the benefits of reposting images and videos. 

Simply put, it takes a lot of time, effort, and resources to consistently create high-quality social content. And since most marketers post between 3-4 times per week, it's vital you have a backlog of content to keep up with demand.

How to Repost on Instagram

First things first, before you repost …

With other social networks, reposting is a native feature that comes baked into the product experience and expectations. On Instagram, since this isn’t a native part of the app, there needs to be an additional step:

Before you repost, it is best to request permission from the original poster so that you can repost their work.

You can do this in a few ways:

  • Send the original poster a direct message in Instagram
  • Comment on their photo to start the conversation
  • Connect via email to iron out the details and get explicit permission

Reposting has been around as a strategy on Instagram for quite some time, long before tools like Buffer for Instagram came around. Certain third-party apps allowed for particular repost functions, often including watermarks or @-mention credits on the reposted photo. The absolute simplest way, though, was with a screengrab — a process that can still be replicated today.

Here’s how to manually repost photos in 4 easy steps:

1. Screenshot a photo

Find the photo you’d like to repost with your audience and take a screenshot of it.

2. Select the camera button on Instagram and upload your screenshot

Once you have your image saved to your camera roll, tap on the camera icon within Instagram and select your screenshot as you would any other image you wanted to share on Instagram.

3. Resize the image

Next, you’ll want to resize your post so that only the image remains. You can do this using the resize functionality within Instagram, or if you’d like to crop before you upload the photo, this can also be done using your phone’s camera roll editing functionality.

4. Add a caption

Be sure to credit the original sharer of the image within your caption and tag their account using their Instagram handle (@buffer, for example).

Why reposting can be important for brands

Instagram is used by nearly half of all brands and generates engagement rates that are 10 times higher than Facebook.

Instagram has become an incredibly important network for brands. In fact, 48.8% of brands are on Instagram. And by 2017, this figure is predicted to rise to 70.7%.

What’s more, those brands already using Instagram are seeing great engagement. A recent Forrester study showed that engagement with brands on Instagram is 10 times higher than Facebook, 54 times higher than Pinterest, and 84 times higher than Twitter.

But how does reposting come into play here?

According to research from marketing startup Crowdtap and the global research company Ipsos, millennials and other generations trust UGC 50% more than other types of media. Furthermore, 84% of millennials report that user-generated content on company websites has at least some influence on what they buy and where.

How reposting can fit into your Instagram strategy

Here are 4 ways to make reposting a part of your strategy.

1. Share user generated content from events

Live events, meetups and talks are great times to create and curate content. If you’re running your own event, or maybe a member of your team is giving a talk at an event, this is a golden opportunity to repost some content on Instagram.

Eventbrite use a branded hashtag, #EBevents, to share and follow content from events that use Eventbrite to sell tickets and they also repost content from some Instagram users who attened Eventbrite events.

2. Monitor brand mentions, tags, and hashtags

Your Instagram notifications can also be a great source of user generated content. Keep an eye out for any new mentions and tags as these can be great sources of content for your own Instagram feed.

At Buffer, we also use a few branded hashtags on Instagram. One of the hashtags we use is #bufferlove and we frequently reach out to others who use the hashtag and repost their content with our own feed.

3. Acknowledge and share content from community members

People enjoy being acknowledged for their content and efforts on social media. And sometimes, reaching out and asking about sharing some of their content on your brand’s profile can be a great way to acknowledge their work and also discover new brand ambasasdors.

Destination British Columbia is the Official tourism organization for British Columbia, Canada, and they often feature guest Instagrammers within their feed.

4. Celebrate milestones and events to inspire user generated content

Addressing big milestones or celebrating key events and moments, can be a great strategy to inspire your followers to share some user generated content.

A great example of this is the National Park Service, who recently celebrated their 100th birthday using the hashtag #nps100. On Instagram alone, this hashtag has been used in over 175,000 posts, giving theNational Park Service an amazing choice of beautiful, engaging photos to repost.

How to decide what you should repost on Instagram

Cool, so you’re ready to repost some content on Instagram, but which photos should you share?

It’s important to ensure you have a strategy in place when it comes to reposting and also an idea on how the content you repost fits into your wider Instagram strategy. A few factors it’s important to think about include:

Composition

Composition refers to the placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject of a work.

When it comes to sharing images from other Instagram accounts, think about your brand’s style of composition and whether each image fits in here. For example, if all of your images feature a solid background, it might not fit in with your visual style to repost an image with a textured background.

Color palette

Many brands use a set color palette on Instagram and moving away from your brand style may make your reposted content feel a little out of place. For example, Everlane tends to use soft palette and grey/black/white colors:

If Everlane were to repost an image with a bright, vibrant color scheme it wouldn’t feel aligned with Everlane’s brand.

Content

This is probably the most important factor of any reposting strategy. Before sharing a photo, think about whether the content is aligned with your brand. For example, at Buffer our Instagram content focuses on three main themes:

  1. User generated content
  2. Digital nomad lifestyle
  3. Productivity and motivation

Before reposting anything, we’ll ensure that the photo aligns with one of these three themes and helps us to execute on our strategy.

3 reposting best practices

1. Ask for permission

Once you’ve discovered a photo you’d like to share, it’s a best practice to ask the original creator before you go ahead and publish. Usually, the easiest way to do this is through using Instagram’s messaging feature and sending the creator a DM. If this approach doesn’t work, some Instagram accounts will include an email address in their bio, too.

We’ve also found that it’s best to include a thoughtful message in your outreach about why you’d like to share the photo.

2. Avoid edits

If you’ve picked out a photo you’d love to repost, it’s best practice to share it untouched and unedited. 99% of the time you’ll be able to go ahead and publish without any changes, but for those rare occasions where a slight edit may be needed, be sure to reach out original creator and ask before publishing an edited image.

3. Credit your source

This one is super important. If you choose to repost someone’s photo, ensure you give credit in your post. The best way to credit someone is to include their username within your caption.

Instagram captions become truncated with an ellipsis after three lines of text so, where possible, try to include the credit within those first three lines so it’s visible.

Here are a few ways you can give credit within your photo caption:

  • Credit: @username
  • Photo credit: @username
  • Moment captured by @username
  • ? by @username
  • Thanks to @username for sharing this image with us

Which brands are utilizing user generated content?

1. GoPro

GoPro is a brand built on user generated content. Their Instagram feed regularly features content from members of their community and showcases the amazing images you can capture using a GoPro camera.

2. Momondo

Travel search site, Momondo, use their bio to encourage users to tag them in photos and use hashtag  #staycurious for the chance to have your content featured on their profile:

Let's start with story reposts

This feature has appeared quite recently, but has already gained great popularity. This was possible due to the high demand for the repost of extraneous stories. Someone else's story will appear in a blurred frame in the feed of the person who reposted. But many Instagram users who are new to the social network may not know what Stories are.

What are stories, where are they located?

Stories is a special feature on the Instagram social network that allows you to record and then post a short video to your page in a special field (more on that below). The main feature of this feature is that stories are not stored on the page all the time until they are deleted by the owner. On the contrary, stories are automatically deleted exactly one day after publication.

Finding and viewing them is easy enough. You need to go to the very top of the tape. At the top of the screen, there will be stories. The entry itself is made in the form of a circle, which depicts the person who posted this story. You just need to click on the person's avatar and Stories will open on the screen.

If you've been tagged…

If you've been tagged in a story, it's easiest to repost it. But many may have a question: how to find out that I was noted in stories. Usually, if this happens, then the person who was marked receives a notification that informs him about this.

Right next to the notification, you can find the inscription "Add this to the story." Just click on this button and the selected story will appear in the feed. If you want to share the story with a specific person, then you need to click on the icon that resembles a paper airplane, and then select the person to whom you want to send the story.

Reposting someone else's story

The phrase "someone else's story" means that story in which the person who wants to repost is not tagged. In this case, you also need to click on the button that looks like a paper airplane, and then select the person with whom you want to share the story. If you need to add it to your page, then after clicking on the airplane, you should click on "Add".

Post reposts

A post is any photo, video, any text and everything else. The main task of the post is to attract as much attention as possible. Reposts, like likes with comments, allow you to evaluate how interesting this or that post is. You can repost a post to your feed, history, or simply download it for some personal purposes.

Repost someone else's post to your story

When adding someone else's post to your story, you can edit it a bit. For example, write an inscription, add stickers, and so on. But keep in mind that the link to the original post will be in the published story. Therefore, a person who watches a story with a reposted post can go to the original at any time. To repost someone else's post to your story, you need to:

  • click on the paper airplane under the post;

  • click on "Add post to your story";

  • edit the post if necessary;
  • Post to a personal story.

Do not forget that you can repost a post to your story only from an open profile. If a person for some reason decided to close his account, then reposting his post or stories will not work in this way.

Repost someone else's post to your feed

It is impossible to repost someone else's post to your feed. What can be done instead:

  • insert code (for posting on the site) ;
  • screenshot;
  • through third party applications.

The first method is the only one of the above, which was approved by the administration of Insta. In order to repost any entry by pasting the code, you only need:

  1. Select the post you like.
  2. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the post.
  3. Click on "Copy link".
  4. Paste the copied link into the post editor.

After all the actions done, the page will display exactly the same publication with an attached link to the profile of the author of this post.

Screenshot - the easiest, but not quite allowed way. Since a ban can fly in for stealing someone else's content and appropriating it to yourself if the administration of the social network notices this. However, many often use this method. To repost the post you like on your page using a screenshot, you should:

  1. Select the post you like.
  2. Take a screenshot in the usual way.
  3. After that, just add a screenshot to your profile like any other photo.

To avoid a ban, you can simply mark the author of this post. To do this, while editing a future post, you should click on "Mark a person" and select the author or indicate his name after the special character: "@". Then usually the administration does not ban such reposts.

The last method involves installing third-party applications on your smartphone. If a person is ready to sacrifice his internal memory in order to be able to repost other people's posts, then you can use the following programs:

  • Regrann (Android: https://play. google.com/store/apps/details?id=com .jaredco.regrann&hl=en iPhone: https://appvisor.ru/app/ios/repost-for-instagram-regrann-56008/).
  • Insta Repost for Instagram (Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redcactus.repost&hl=en).

In all of the above programs, the interface is simple, so problems should not arise. Usually it all comes down to the fact that through the downloaded program you should log in, find the post, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and click on "Share" or something similar (it may differ in different programs, but the meaning is the same).

Video repost

Video repost, as well as post repost, is currently impossible to do. There are two ways: download the video or use the app. The first option can be problematic, as downloading videos is not always possible. Therefore, it is better to have a downloaded application in order to be able to repost whatever your heart desires:

  • Regrann;
  • Insta Repost for Instagram;
  • Repost for Instagram.

As you can see, these are the same applications as for reposting posts. It’s just that they are universal, and with the help of them you can repost anything on Instagram. Links to download them can be found in the "Repost someone else's post to yourself" block. There, at the very end, you can find a brief general instruction that tells how these applications work.

Download a post and do whatever you want with it

As mentioned above, you can simply download a post or video to do something with it later. For example, put it on your page. The easiest way: go to Insta through a PC and paste the character set at the very end into the address bar of the browser: media/?size=l.

Place a post on your website

Sometimes there are times when you need to place your favorite post from Instagram on your website. This can be done in the way allowed by the Instagram administration - using the embed code. This method was discussed a little higher, but here it will be described again, since the last steps are different:

  1. Find a post you like.
  2. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the post.
  3. Click on "Copy link".
  4. Go to your own site and paste the copied link address into the editor, then save the changes.

After that, a reposted post with a link to its author will appear on the site. The last condition is necessary, because otherwise it will be considered content theft. The site owner can be forced to remove this post, but this happens quite rarely.

Send to WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber

Now it is difficult to meet a person who is not registered on Instagram. But sometimes you want to share a post or story with a friend that is not registered on this social network. You can do this without downloading any software. But there is one condition - WhatsApp or another program must be installed on the phone through which the post or story should be reposted.

Post

  1. Find a post you like.
  2. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the post.
  3. Click on Share.
  4. Select the desired messenger.
  5. Select the person or conversation to send the post to.

Stories

  1. Find your favorite story.
  2. Click on the three dots in the lower right corner of the screen.
  3. Click on "Share link".
  4. Select messenger.
  5. Select a person or conversation and send the story.

Repost a post through the application

To share someone else's post in your feed, you need to download the application (there is no such functionality inside Instagram yet).

There are several apps for reposting on iOS and Android, look for the phrase Repost Instagram in the name, you can't go wrong: Reposter for Instagram, Repost for Instagram Stories, QuickRepost for Instagram, Easy Repost for Instagram.

P.S. It is better to use applications and services that indicate the author's login in the post (or photo) that you share - so you do not violate copyrights by posting someone else's content. As a last resort, you can always mark a person on Instagram manually, but it’s still better when there is a mark both in the photo and in the description.

Consider the example of the application Repost for Instagram - Regram.

This is an Android application, you can find it in the Google Play marketplace. There are similar apps on the iPhone, like 'Repost for Instagram'. All these services work by analogy, so the example with Reposta is suitable for any other application.

Open the application. We click on the Instagram icon in the upper right corner, and we are automatically transferred to Instagram. That is, if you are already authorized on Insta, you do not need to enter any additional logins and passwords. This is a plus for the application.

On Instagram, select the post you want to share. Click on the post menu (3 dots). In the window that opens, click on the "Copy link" item.

We go back to the Regram application, and it will automatically recognize the copied link. Click on the post.

A photo opens, the application automatically puts the author's login on it. You can change the location of the plate, for example, put it at the top of the photo. You can also completely remove the mention of the author, but we do not recommend doing this, as this is already considered theft. The plate settings are on the left under the photo.

The letters LDB at the bottom right allow you to change the color of the plate. L is white, D is black, and B allows you to customize the color from the proposed palette.

The letters SS at the top above the photo allow you to copy the description - you can use it in full, or you can use hashtags. Better completely. The application substitutes a hashtag and a mark - #Repost @author's login before the author's description.

In the application menu (3 dots) you can also look at the author's profile, open his Instagram post or replace the photo.

To repost, click on the button with two arrows (the first in the row). The button in the center saves the photo to the device, and the right button with the “Share” icon allows you to send the photo to other social networks, instant messengers and email (but this is not necessary, since this function is in Insta itself).

The application tells you how to insert a description with authorship. Choose where to send the post - to Direct (Chats), tape (Feed) or Stories (Stories).

If we send it to the feed, then we are transferred to the standard post settings (for example, you can apply a filter). At the stage of adding a description, paste the text copied in advance to the clipboard. You can also add your own description. Next, save the post as usual.

P.S. Recently, many of these applications do not post photos with a badge in the feed, although this badge is in the settings. But at the stage of publication, it disappears, and just a photo is posted. Perhaps this is due to changes in Instagram itself. Places in stories with a die:

What to do if the post is received without a plaque with authorship - you can save the photo to the gallery through the Regram application (the button in the center), and then post it on Instagram in the standard way, after saving the author's description to the clipboard. How to repost a post from Instagram to VK and other social networks

This repost is configured at the time of posting. First, we add a photo (from the gallery or take it with a camera), then we edit it (for example, apply filters) and at the stage of adding a description, geotags and friend marks, at the bottom in the settings we find the “Where else to share” item. Move the slider to the ON position (in blue). You can share only in 4 social networks - Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Odnoklassniki. For the first time, you will need to link accounts from these social networks to Instagram. If you turn on this feature during publication, then announcements of new posts will be automatically posted on these social networks.

Repost a post in Direct

You can share a post in private messages without third-party applications. We find the post in the feed, click on the airplane icon below it, a list of contacts opens with whom we want to share the post. Click "Submit".

The second way is to open the post menu (3 dots in the upper right corner above the post), then "Share to". Among the methods, select "Chats" with the instagram icon. A list of contacts opens, click on the "Submit" button, and the post flies to Direct.

Repost a post to stories

Repost a post to stories in the same way as in Direct — click on the airplane icon under the post, a list of contacts opens, above them there will be a line “Add a post to your story”, click.

The story editor opens, the author's login will be indicated under the publication.

P.S. The method will not work if the author of the content has a private profile - then when you open the contact list, you will see the inscription "Closed account" with a lock icon and an explanation that the listed contacts will not be able to see the content of the author if they are not subscribed to it. In this case, you can save a post with a badge and the author's mark through the Regram application to the device's gallery (the first section describes how), and then add a picture to the story in the usual way and add a sticker with the post's author's mark. However, if the author of the content has closed his profile from strangers, he will probably not be happy that his content ended up in someone else's story, so it's best to get permission from the author to repost first.

Repost stories to post

Open a published story, click on the "More" icon with three dots. Select "Share to Post".

Editing a photo - cropping, adding filters (everything is the same as when adding a standard post). It turns out a regular post with a non-clickable author's login.

Repost stories in Direct

Open the published story, click on the "Share" icon (or 3 dots in the upper right corner, then "Share to"). The methods depend on whose story you are reposting - yours or someone else's.

In the window that opens, select Chats, then the desired contact from the list.

Similar actions allow you to send stories to instant messengers, social networks and mail. There is a separate button for reposting on Facebook in stories, located next to the "Share" button. You can turn on automatic reposting to Facebook in your privacy settings.

The second way, go to "More" and select "Send ..." - the list of contacts will open.

Repost story to story

To repost stories in stories, 3 conditions must be met:

  1. You must be noted in the story. You can't just repost other stories like that.
  2. You can only repost stories from open accounts.
  3. The author of the content must have permission to repost stories enabled in the settings.

Suppose all these conditions are met. Procedure:

As soon as you are tagged in your story, you will receive a notification. We click on it.

A story opens with an Add to Story button at the bottom. Click. The normal story editor opens. The username of the author will be indicated in the history.

How to allow other people to repost stories

Go to your account settings, section "Privacy". Find the "History" tab.

Scroll down to the "Reposts" item and switch the sliders to the ON position opposite the "Allow reposts in stories" and "Allow sharing" sub-items.

You can repost from IGTV to a post in the form of an announcement only when uploading a video to IGTV.
