Can You Delete Facebook Reviews?
Here’s the thing: you can’t delete a review on Facebook. You can’t simply delete Facebook reviews – a.k.a. Recommendations – on an individual level in the same way you can hide or delete unwanted comments on your Page or an unflattering selfie you accidentally uploaded.
However, what you can do to remove Facebook reviews is to disable Recommendations for your Page. To do so:
- Click on the “Pages” tab on the left menu on your Facebook news feed.
- On your Page, click on “Page Settings,” which is located on the left-hand menu.
- Click on the “Templates and Tabs” on the left menu.
- Find the “Reviews” option and turn the tab off.
Before turning the feature, please keep in mind deactivating Recommendations will remove current ratings and Recommendations from your Page. While this might help delete bad reviews, it might actually do more harm than good, especially when consumers are looking for social proof to make an informed purchase decision.
If you don’t want to disable reviews completely, but still want to remove a review, your best option is to report it. Specifically, you can report reviews that do not follow Facebook’s Community Standards or don’t focus on the products and services offered by your business. After you submit a report, Facebook will review it and may remove Facebook reviews and Recommendations that don’t follow the site’s standards.
To make a report to Facebook:
- Click on the “Pages” tab on the left menu on your Facebook news feed.
- On your page, click on the “Reviews” tab underneath your Page name.
- Click on the three-dotted button on the top right of any review that you want to report.
- Click on “Find support or report Recommendation.”
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

How do I turn comment rating on or off for a Facebook Page?

You can manage the classic or new version of Pages. The new version is not yet available for all Pages.
Comment rating is enabled by default for all Pages. This means that the most relevant comments on your posts are shown first. Comments from friends or verified profiles and Pages, as well as comments with the most replies or likes, will be shown first by default.
When comment rating is enabled, you can sort hidden comments on your Page. If the rating of comments is disabled, they will be shown in chronological order by default.
Facebook live comment rating is enabled regardless of Page settings.

Classic Pages
You must be a Page administrator to turn comment rating on or off. Comment rating can only be turned off on a computer.
If you are an administrator:
On the menu to the left of the Feed, click Pages.
Go to your Page.
Click Page Settings in the lower left corner of the Page.
In the General section, click Comment Rating.
To turn on the rating of comments, check the box View the most relevant comments by default, and to turn it off, uncheck it.
Click Save Changes.
New version of Pages
If you have access to a Page on Facebook, you can go to it and access the comment rating setting. Follow the steps below to turn comment rating on or off.
If you only have access to perform certain tasks, you will not be able to set the comment rating.
To turn comment rating on or off:
Click your profile photo or icon at the top of the Facebook window.
Click the icon and select the desired Page.
Select the Page icon or photo at the top of the Facebook window.
Scroll down and select Settings & Privacy and then Settings.
Open Page Settings and select Public Posts.
Next to Comment Rating, click the switch to turn this setting on or off.

In this short video I will show you how to enable reviews on your Facebook page. So guys, let's see where the reviews are on the Facebook page. I note that Facebook loves to change the design of pages, constantly experimenting with either colors or the location of blocks. But at the moment, with the design that you now see on your screen, the reviews and page rating catch your eye quite strongly, as they are right under the cover and profile photo. I note that on mobile devices these ratings are even more visible, because this is practically the very first information that Facebook shows to any visitor to your page.
So, the first mention of the rating we have is, as I said, under the cover and profile photo along with the category of the page and the location of your establishment, as well as information about whether your establishment is open or closed now. The second time the mention of the rating goes a little lower in the main information about the page. And here comes the new information that there are now 304 reviews on this page. And the review block itself is a little lower, this page decided to remove it to the very bottom of it. That is, you can change the location of these blocks at your discretion.
Yes guys, I want to add a few more words about the importance of reviews on Facebook pages. Firstly, the page rating is now displayed not only on Facebook itself, but also outside it. See, for example, if I try to enter the Facebook Hermitage search, Google search, then the following information is displayed for me. First, it is the title of the page. Next come the stars, the overall page rank, and the number of votes cast by users. That is, if your rating is not very good, then this may push the user away from visiting your page. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that the ranking of your page remains as high as possible.
Another interesting feature, friends. Google has started testing sitelinks. Basically, this works for large pages, i.e. 10,000 fans and up. As you can see, here, in addition to just describing the page with the main link, as you see, it happens on other pages, two more are added. That is, basically, here Google shows some links to interesting publications, in his opinion. Well, we will move on and see how to still include reviews on your page.
So, in order to activate reviews on your page, you need to meet two simple conditions.
The first is to change the category to local companies. And the second condition is to enter the full physical address of your company.
Please note that in addition to the reviews, you will also have a map on the page, the ability for users to check-in, that is, check into your establishment, as well as the ability to select additional subcategories.
If you need to change the category of your page, then this is done as follows. I go to my test page and go to the info tab. Next, in the very first line, which is called "Category", I click on the "Edit" option, and here I select the "Local Business" category.
Next, you choose a subcategory, the main subcategory that suits you the most, and click on the "Save changes" button. Further, if your address is not yet indicated or is indicated in an incomplete version, then also click on "Edit". Please note that the address as I provided it here does not work. That is, if I specify the address in this way, then Facebook will never include reviews on the page for me. That is, you need to enter the street, house or building, that is, the full address, city name and postal code.
And notice here, just under the map, we have an additional option. Facebook asks if you want to show a map on your page and show check-ins. That is, if you need a card and need check-ins, then you definitely need to check this box.
After you have entered the full address, click on the "Save changes" button. After that, you will need to be a little patient and wait, because reviews do not always appear immediately on the page. This usually takes from an hour to a maximum of 24 hours.

How do I enable reviews on my Facebook page?
In order to activate reviews on your page, you need to meet two simple conditions:
1) change the category to local companies;
2) enter the full physical address of the company with street and house, city name and postal code.
After you have completed the above two steps, you will need to wait a bit, as reviews do not always appear immediately on the page. This usually takes from an hour to a maximum of 24 hours.

How do I change the page category?
If you need to change the category of a page, you can do it from the "Information" tab, which is located directly under the cover (see video). Next, in the very first line, which is called "Category", click on the "Edit" option, and select the category "Local Company".
What do you need to know about page subcategories?
You can select up to three subcategories per page. Unfortunately, Facebook no longer allows you to set your own subcategories, so you have to choose from what is available.
IMPORTANT! Before you save your changes, take a good look at all the available subcategories. If you find those that suit you perfectly, then you can safely save. Don't save your changes until you're sure you like these subcategories, because later, if you change your mind, Facebook won't let you remove the subcategories completely, but will constantly require you to select at least one. Be careful at this stage!
How does Facebook calculate page rank?
The Star Page Rating is the average of all star ratings received. It is important to remember that in the overall rating of a page, Facebook takes into account only public ratings, that is, those that were published with the mark “Public to all”.
You may not be aware, but the user who posts the review can choose who sees the review. For example, if he posts a star rating and selects Friends as the audience, only his friends will be able to see that rating. In this case, also only friends will be able to comment and like this review, and it will not be visible to the general public.
In what order are reviews displayed on the page?
As in the case of displaying publications in the news feed, reviews can also be ranked by a special Facebook algorithm. The reviews that appear on the page are displayed depending on who is viewing the page.
This order depends on numerous factors, such as when the review was published, the number of interactions with it (comments, likes) and whether the page visitor is a friend of the person who left the review. Facebook tries, first of all, to show the reviews of friends, since the user will have more confidence in such reviews.
How do I report a review to be removed from the page?
You can report reviews that do not comply with the Facebook Community Standards or do not focus on the product or service offered on the page. This can be, for example, spam, too offensive reviews with a transition to personalities, or generally incomprehensible things that are not related to the company. Facebook says it looks into these complaints and, if they are justified, may remove reviews that do not comply with its policies.
Honestly, friends, I have never used this feature, so I can't say for sure how actively Facebook handles such complaints.
