If you have an online business, it’s best to have all your digital media connected, don’t you think? That includes linking WhatsApp to Facebook.
It’s only logical, Facebook is one of the most important social networks where you share content about your business… and WhatsApp is the most widely used instant messaging app.
💡 First conclusion: linking the two platforms will help you grow your business.
Why? Among other advantages, you can create ads on Facebook to click through to WhatsApp so users will send you a message on WhatsApp Business from Facebook. Another advantage you’ll find interesting is that users who visit your Facebook fan page can contact you and send you a WhatsApp message in just one click.
That way, you make it easier for Facebook users to contact you and that can be key in closing a sale and having a satisfied customer.
That said, how can you link WhatsApp to Facebook? Here we go!
To synch and connect the two platforms properly, you need:
▶️ A WhatsApp Business account: you can download it here for Android or iOS.
▶️ A Facebook fan page: learn how to create a page here and optimize your business page here.
▶️ Updated apps so you can sync them.
You have two options to link the platforms, from WhatsApp Business or from Facebook. We’ll explain both.
If you’re ready, let’s get started!

- Once you’re logged in, choose the fan page you want to link to WhatsApp Business, and tap Connect WhatsApp.
- Done! Now you’ll see a WhatsApp button on your Facebook fan page.
❇️ If you don’t have a page already when you go to link WhatsApp and Facebook, you’ll see the option to create one on the same screen.
Link Facebook-WhatsApp from Facebook
Now we’ll add another player, your Facebook fan page. Remember to create your business page so you can link it to WhatsApp Business.
- Log into Facebook and go to the fan page you want to connect.
- Tap Settings and in the left column, with all the settings options, tap WhatsApp.

Open link with facebook app in android
I would say that is due to deep linking. In any of your apps you could add filters that trigger your app whenever the Android system tries to resolve an URL.
Probably the Facebook app has configured the deep link of thehttp://m.*
urls
edit: I've tested it via adb and it is due to deep linking. You can test it with
adb shell am start -W -a android.intent.action.VIEW -d <URL>
as explained in the deep link documentation
This is the output:
$ adb shell am start -W -a android.intent.action.VIEW -d "https://m.facebook.com/SriSwamiji/posts/1099353043449548:0" Starting: Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=https://m.facebook.com/. .. } Status: ok Activity: com.facebook.katana/com.facebook.deeplinking.activity.StoryDeepLinkLoadingActivity ThisTime: 127 TotalTime: 208 WaitTime: 253 Complete
As you can see the Activity
launched is com.facebook.katana
(the Facebook app).
$ adb shell am start -W -a android.intent.action.VIEW -d "https://www.facebook.com/SriSwamiji/photos/a.186720728046122.67368.108460819205447/1099353043449548/?type=3" Starting: Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=https://www.facebook.com/... } Status: ok Activity: com.android.chrome/org.chromium.chrome.browser.document.DocumentActivity ThisTime: 121 TotalTime: 179 WaitTime: 223 Complete
In this case com.android.chrome
is launched
Also, if you take a look to the Facebook app manifest (with some app like ManifestViewer you can see that it has some intent-filter
to handle it:
<intent-filter> <action android:name="android. intent.action.VIEW"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE"/> <data android:scheme="http" android:host="m.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/events"/> <data android:scheme="https" android:host="m.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/events"/> <data android:scheme="http" android:host="m.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/groups"/> <data android:scheme="https" android:host="m.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/groups"/> <data android:scheme="http" android:host="www.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/groups"/> <data android:scheme="https" android:host="www. facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/groups"/> <data android:scheme="http" android:host="www.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/events"/> <data android:scheme="https" android:host="www.facebook.com" android:pathPrefix="/events"/> </intent-filter>
In your concrete case I would say that that link is handled in
<activity android:theme="@2131625627" android:name="com.facebook.katana.ContactUriHandler" android:taskAffinity="com.facebook.task.ContactUriHandler" android:excludeFromRecents="true" android:launchMode="singleInstance"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/> <data android:mimeType="vnd. android.cursor.item/vnd.facebook.profile" android:host="com.android.contacts"/> <data android:mimeType="vnd.android.cursor.item/vnd.facebook.presence" android:host="com.android.contacts"/> </intent-filter> </activity>
and internally has support for posts but not for photos
How to open links in the desired application on Android
Surely you have been repeatedly sent different links to Aliexpress or just to some online stores. Very often, when you click on such links, a regular tab in the browser opens, instead of transferring you to the corresponding application with a convenient interface. If it is inconvenient to use the mobile version of the site, then you have to manually search for the desired page in the application, which can be quite critical in the conditions of limited time. nine0005
Sometimes links are so abbreviated that it is not even clear what service they are intended for.

But the good thing is that Android allows you to customize even such things. Moreover, you can choose which specific links will transfer you to the appropriate program. We figure out how to open links immediately in the desired application bypassing the browser.
Disable built-in browser Telegram
The built-in browser almost always does not allow you to follow the link to the application.
Many instant messengers or social networking applications have built-in browsers. By default, links that come to you in such places open in them. To go, for example, to Google Chrome, you need a couple of extra clicks. In most cases, it is the built-in browsers that prevent links from opening the corresponding applications. Fortunately, this option can be easily disabled. nine0005
Using Telegram as an example, this can be done as follows:
Using a standard browser is often more convenient than using the one built into the application.
- Open application Telegram .
- Click on the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner.
- Go to settings.
- Select the Chat Settings section.
- Scroll to the very bottom and turn off the "Built-in Browser" switch.
❗️ SUBSCRIBE TO OUR TELEGRAM CHAT. THERE YOU CAN TALK WITH OTHER READERS AND EVEN OUR AUTHORS
After these steps, all links coming to you will open exclusively in the default browser or in the appropriate application. Keep this fact in mind and don't be surprised by the large number of tabs in your browser.
How to open a link in the application
Just turn on the switch and it will work.
But disabling the built-in browser is not always enough. Very often, smartphone manufacturers in their default shells disable the opening links in applications . To fix this, you need to give the programs the appropriate permissions. Using the example of Xiaomi , Redmi or Poco smartphones, this can be done in two ways:
- Open the settings.
- In the search bar at the very top of the screen, enter "Access to all files".
- Go to the suggested menu.
- Find the required application in the list and open its settings.
- Scroll down and select "Open by Default". nine0032
- Activate the switch “Open supported links”.
- If there are no links in the "Links that will open in this application" block, click the "Add link" button.
- Check the boxes for all links that should open in the selected application and click the “Add” button.

Now you can try to follow the desired link to check the performance of the settings. The second method is almost the same, except for the path to the settings with the activation of these links:
This transition option works on any Android smartphone.
- Go to Google Play.
- Click on the circle with your account in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select Help/Feedback.
- Go to "How to remove, disable and manage unused apps on Android".
- In the "How to uninstall apps you have installed" section, click on the link in the first paragraph "Click to go to app settings". nine0032
- The same menu will open that we went to from the settings.
- Find the application you want and follow the same steps for adding links as described in the instructions above.
This way of going to the settings is the most versatile and is suitable for smartphones of any manufacturer. Most importantly, this will allow you to once and for all reconfigure the necessary programs to directly open links without the need to make unnecessary gestures.
How to open a link in a browser
In some situations, it is still preferable to open links directly in the browser.
But what if you, on the contrary, want to make sure that all links open strictly in the default browser without opening branded applications? Here, too, everything is quite simple:
Now, when you click on any link to the corresponding service, the browser selected by default will always open. In my case it is Google Chrome. This moment can be traced very well on the AliExpress application. Most links are initially set to open in the app. Therefore, when this menu item is disabled, any product is immediately loaded in the browser. nine0005

Taking into account the fact that not all applications are convenient enough, such settings have the right to life. That is why I use the application Aliexpress for my personal purposes, and if I just need to look at some link, then it is much more convenient for me when I am transferred to a new tab in the browser.
Link to chat in WhatsApp, Telegram, VK and Facebook Messenger — WebBeaver.ru
Telegram: https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@Nickname
: https://www.messenger.com/t/Username
WhatsApp can even insert text: https://api. whatsapp.com/send?phone=NUMBER&text=MESSAGE_TEXT
A Even in Vkontakte, you can write messages to the mail. To do this, in the search for a dialogue, you need to enter an e-mail and open a correspondence. nine0005
If you need to insert a link to a dialogue in your Instagram header, but you don't want to limit your customers to only one channel of communication with you, you can use the FindMe.su service. This service allows you to create one page with all your contacts. Be it WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Vkontakte, Instagram or Youtube channel. For more conservative users, you can display a phone number, email, website link, and address with a map widget.
As a result, the finished page consists of four blocks:
The first block is general information about you. A logo or photo, your name or the name of your organization and some text.
The second block is the services through which you can write.
Clicking on any icon instantly opens a dialog in the corresponding application.
The third block is your pages.
Your official website always comes first. And then… Do you have a Youtube channel? Do you draw and share your work on Behance, Artstation or Dribbble? Or maybe you want to show examples of your code on Github? Or are you a photographer and are you more interested in 500px and Pinterest? Just paste the link. No need to select icons, everything happens automatically! nine0005
The fourth block is contacts.
This is your address, phone number and e-mail. When you click on the phone or mail, a dialer or mail client will open.
And one more thing: do you know that feeling when you looked at the address, arrived at the place and can't remember the house number, floor or office? You open the site, and it takes a very long time to load and you stand and wait for the browser to give you information.
So, after the first visit, your page becomes available offline! And even if the user does not have the Internet, he will be able to find you or dictate your number. nine0005
The entire panel is divided into three tabs.
In the first tab you will find all the ways to contact you.
- WhatsApp and Viber use a phone number.
- Telegram and Skype require username.
- In the fields of Facebook and Vkontakte, you can simply insert a link to your page, the system will understand everything itself.
The second tab is links.
The first field is for the official website. And then any sites on the Internet where you are represented. By default, only one additional field for links is shown, but you can add any number. Just click the "add" button, insert the link and the name of the link. nine0005
The third tab is the profile.
Here you can add a photo, name and small text. By clicking on "Additional contacts", you will open the fields for address, mail and phone.
Oh yes! We almost forgot about the most important field - the URL.
