My tagged pictures on Instagram are pretty mundane to scroll through, but occasionally, I'll have someone that I've never met tag me in a post. Whether it's an accident or simply someone trying to make a new friend, I'll never know — but I'd prefer for my tagged photos to not be filled with pictures of strangers. So, how do you hide tagged Instagram photos so they don't show up on your profile? Thankfully, you can do it without anyone really noticing.
The app makes it easy to hide tagged Instagram pictures while still remaining tagged. Even when I do know the person sharing, I still want to hide some of the posts I'm tagged in — my friends and family members seem to love sharing pictures where I'm clearly not ready for my close-up.
There are plenty of reasons why you may want to hide your tagged photos. Think: that picture from college circa 2015 just resurfaced as your friend's #tbt post. Or, that fake Instagram account just tagged you in that “You Won $1000” post, and unfortunately for you, (and your wallet) you most certainly did not.
Jokes aside, when you’re job searching, or your grandmother is a new follower, it can be a really useful trick to know how to hide your tagged photos. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, you'll be done hiding your posts in no time, and your tagged photos will look as clean and curated as your actual Instagram feed.
If you find yourself regularly hiding pictures from your profile, Instagram has an incredibly easy way to solve that problem.
It may be simpler to turn on tagged photos approval — you'll find the option under the Privacy section in-app settings.
But, if you just want to remove a photo or two from your profile, hiding one by one is probably your best bet.

Navigate to your Instagram profile, then tap the third icon in the middle of the screen — it's the one with the outline of a person. From there, you'll see all of the pictures you've been tagged in on Instagram.
Hide A Tagged Photo By Tapping Your UsernameAyana Lage
The first way to hide a tagged photo is to pull up the photo, tap it, and then click on your username that shows up.
From there, you can select "Hide from My Profile," and the picture will no longer be visible publicly under your tagged pictures. Though you'll still be tagged and the photo won't be deleted, people won't be able to find it on your profile.

Another way to hide a tagged Instagram photo is through the Post Options menu. This is especially handy if the tags in a picture are stacked on top of each other, or if you don't want to scroll through a photoset to find out which image you're tagged in. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner above the image, then select Post Options.

After you select Post Options, you'll see the same menu that appears when you tap your username in a tagged photo. Select "Hide from My Profile," and the picture will disappear from your profile (not from Instagram altogether) without you having to worry about offending the person who tagged you in the first place.

If you need to hide multiple pictures at once, you can speed up the process through the Settings page. On your profile, look for the three lines in the top right corner of the screen. Tap Settings, then Privacy, then Tags.

You can now remove multiple images from your profile at once. Tap all of the ones you want to hide, then select Hide in the top right corner of the screen.
Don't sweat if you accidentally hide a picture from tagged photos, or decide later on that you want it to appear back on your profile — you can reverse it. Navigate to the profile that posted the photo of you originally, and repeat the steps listed above — but instead of seeing "Hide from My Profile," you'll see an option that says, "Show on My Profile." Select it, and it's like the tagged photo never left.

90,000 how to hide hashtags under postmenu
Content
And in order for the picture to be viewed not only by your subscribers, but also by other people, you can place several keywords in the description.
However, many began to notice that a huge number of tags does not look very aesthetically pleasing. Therefore, the question arises: how to hide hashtags on Instagram? The answer is to use one trick, which we will talk about next!
So, we have successfully completed the theoretical part, so it's time to figure out how to hide keywords on Instagram.
And first you need to prepare the necessary tags and save them in notes or another convenient text editor. When everything is ready, we proceed to perform the steps from the step-by-step instructions:
This is the standard step you always go through to add a new post. But pay attention to the fact that nothing is required to be indicated in the description (except for some personal information). You just need to post a video or image, and then go down to the comments.
You will say that all tags have also automatically disappeared, and you will be partially right. Yes, we do not see the words, but they are still tied to our post.
To check, you can go to the search and enter the hashtag below the photo. Most likely, you will see your own publication there. And if not, then choose a lower frequency word and try again.
You will be interested: hashtags for likes and followers on Instagram.
But if you don't have much confidence in the previous option involving the use of comments, then we suggest trying to hide the tags in the text of the publication.
However, we warn you right away that you should not expect a perfect result. Firstly, through the standard features of Instagram, it simply will not be possible to completely hide keywords. And secondly, many of your subscribers will be able to access the tags. And here is the method in question:
First, enter the necessary text there that we want to share with subscribers. If you do not understand the essence of the method, now we will explain everything. The fact is that to view the full description, you will need to click on the “More” button located under the post.
As a result, a set of dots will be waiting for your subscriber or casual page visitor. Who do you think will want to scroll to the end? Most likely a small percentage of all people. Yes, the option is not the most effective, but it does exist.
We've covered how to hide hashtags on Instagram, but how do you remove them? If you chose the first method for yourself, then the answer is no way.
The only solution is to get rid of the entire post and then add it to the profile again. Here is a guide on how to do it:
And after that you will have to re-add the deleted photo to your profile. But if the second option was used, then there is an opportunity not to resort to such serious measures, but only to slightly change the publication.
To do this, we again click on the icon in the form of three dots, and then select "Edit" in the list that appears. And then we erase or change the hashtags and save the edits (tick in the corner of the screen).
Everything seems to be clear with the post, but how to hide hashtags in Instagram stories? And to make it even easier, and here is a step-by-step instruction:
First of all, it is desirable to understand why hidden hashtags are needed on Instagram. On the one hand, they allow you to further promote the publication on Instagram, and on the other hand, they do not take up space in the description.
And thanks to this, the general appearance of the post changes significantly: subscribers do not see extra text, but view only the information you specified.
You can also hide keywords from competitors running their own Instagram page.
Let's say that you have found tags that positively affect the promotion of a post. And so that strangers do not know about them, it is enough to hide secret information.
A big plus of these methods is that apart from the official application of the social network, no third-party services will have to be used.
So, we looked at how to hide hashtags on Instagram. So far, the only working option is using a block with comments.
On various forums, there are suggestions that soon the developers will officially add the necessary option to the Instagram application. Well, let's look forward to it!
