How to Make Text Move on Instagram Stories
Watch this video on YouTube
There are few people today who have never posted a single story to their Instagram account.
This feature became popular almost instantly and today it’s used by influencers, artists, businesses, and of course, us mortals as well. Instagram stories are interesting and dynamic, far more authentic than photoshoped posts on your feed, and they allow you to use your imagination to the max! Not to mention that other social media networks followed suit, introducing this option not so long ago.
How can you make your stories awesome? Have you tried making text move?
Plain text is so last year. We try to make stories more innovative every day, so new fonts, sparkly letters, and moving text is the way to go.
There’s no option to make your text move within the app itself. You can make your writing pink or blue, change size, use different fonts, move the text around on your screen, but you can’t really make quotes and tags move on their own once you post the story.
However, there are ways to do this. The simplest one includes some of the cool apps available on Google Play Store and App Store. Our top suggestions are definitely Adobe Spark Post and Hype Text.
Adobe Spark Post is certainly one of the greatest designing apps, given the number of features you can use. With this app, you can create spectacular videos and upload them to your Instagram story. We guarantee you won’t go unnoticed. Here’s how to do it:
This is another excellent choice for creative story makers. Hype Text has a bunch of awesome effects you can add to your text and make it move on your screen. This will make your Instagram stories stand out from the crowd. Follow these steps:
There’s still a way to make your text move in Instagram stories without using third-party apps. It’s worth mentioning because sometimes it does look cool.
However, you don’t have many options here, at least not as many as the apps mentioned above offer. The text will only move along with the part of the video it’s pinned to, and only if it’s in the form of a tag, mention, or GIF.
How?
Just do the following:
According to research, around 500 million people worldwide use and watch stories on a daily basis. After reading this, no one could ever say Instagram stories aren’t important!
Whether you’re managing your own private profile or a business one, Instagram stories are there to boost the engagement on your page. For that reason, you shouldn’t regret spending hours on creating awesome stories for your profile!
How many stories a day do you post to your Instagram account? Let us know in the comments section below!
Instagram is all about sharing photos and stories with other users.
It offers all kinds of effects and options designed to help you make unique pictures that stand out from the crowd.
However, those options are still somewhat limited. So, if you want to add moving text to your Instagram Story, you will have to use a third-party app. Keep reading and find out which apps can help you add moving text and other effects to your Instagram Stories.
As the name already suggests, PicsArt Animator is an app that allows you to create all kinds of animations. The list includes pics, videos, and of course, Instagram Stories. It’s one of those apps that need a little getting used to, but once you figure out how it works you will be able to create some fantastic animated text effects.
The app requires you to add the position of the text frame by frame until you’re happy with the way it moves. However, there are no built-in fonts, meaning you will have to write your text by swiping the screen. Don’t let that confuse you because that’s precisely what makes using this app so easy.
Here is how you use it:
The process is straightforward, and the results are pretty awesome. You should leave a blank frame between two adjacent frames to make the text move slower. The app also comes with all kinds of exciting stickers that will help you come up with something unique for your next Story. You can reload any animation at any time and add more effects if you want.
If you’re looking for a simple app that doesn’t require too much effort, Text Animation DP GIF is an excellent choice. It comes with some GIF templates that allow you to create moving text for your Instagram Stories in minutes.
There are plenty of fonts to choose from, and you can also change the size and color of the text. Here is how it works.
Since this is a free app, it comes with ads, so it might be better to save the GIF and upload it to Instagram after you close the app.
Adobe Spark Post doesn’t come with so many bells and whistles, but it’s the perfect app if you want to get things done quickly. Even though it has somewhat limited options, you will still be able to create some memorable pictures and Stories.
The app also allows you to animate the background, not just the text. It provides subtle transitions on the screen, so it could be ideal for your everyday Instagram Stories. Here is how it works:
Keep in mind that there are only three available text effects. They are Slide, Fade, and Grow.
Hype TexT has almost the same name as another app further down the list. However, it offers a completely different set of animation effects and options. It’s easy to use, and the effects are among the best out there.
There are many features for you to explore, including creating custom backgrounds, changing colors, size, formatting of your Instagram Story, and so on. Here is how you use it:
Last but not least, we have Hype Text (yes, this is a different app from the one we’ve listed above). It’s one of the most popular third-party apps for creating animated text for Instagram Stories. It offers a lot of different effects, and you can also control the speed of the animation.
Furthermore, there are hundreds of fonts to choose from, and the process of creating animations is very simple. Here is how you use it:
Of course, you could upload an image to your Instagram Story with animated text, but just like a normal post, you can’t insert any text you want with the feature.
But, you can add a sticker to your Instagram Story. Simply click on the ‘Sticker’ icon at the top of the screen after you’ve finished recording and select one of the options that appears.
Instagram’s stickers have a wide variety of built-in animated text to choose from.
Unfortunately, not without using a third-party app first. When you select the option to upload a photo, you’ll see the option to change filters. At the bottom of the page you’ll see an ‘Edit’ button which only gives you the option to make more corrections and change the photo itself. On the next page you can add captions, choose your privacy, and post.
Instagram does offer a few cool effects, but they get old quickly. All of the apps reviewed above can help you create a unique Instagram Story that will keep other users guessing how you did it. With a little practice, you will be able to create some impressive Stories that will draw in likes like a magnet.

Instagram stories seem to be as simple and intuitive as the social network itself.
However, not all of its features and functions are immediately visible, and even SMM specialists who have been promoting on Instagram for a long time do not know about some.
We've found 13 cool features that make our job easier.
You can find out this data, which is not shown in the statistics, by going to the post itself and clicking on the three dots. There should appear the item “view reposts of stories”.
If you don't see it, it means that there are currently no active stories with reposts of your publication.
This feature will help you understand how users react to content or determine how much they like a new product from their comments on the repost.
Copy images directly from the camera roll on your phone.
Just click “copy” and then go to instagram, open the story, press and hold your finger until the “paste” option appears.
Or download the Google Gboard keyboard and insert images directly from the search.
This life hack is the least known of our list.
But to make a boomerang, you just need to upload a live photo to your story, press hard on the screen and hold your finger until “boomerang” appears on the screen.
You can return a photo to a static original in the same way.
Do you want the color of the text to stop being just monotonous?
It is enough to select the written text, select the initial color and at the same time (with both hands) drag to the left over the text and the color scale.
Open the text tool and select the neon font. Then choose any emoji. All is ready!
In this simple way, you can make the story look more original and make emoji play in a new way.
To make this feature available, you will first need to download the Over application (available in the AppStore and Google play).
After installing the application, you can download fonts in OTF format to your phone from your computer by transferring them via Airdrop.
For some fonts, such as classic or typewriter, this feature is available automatically.
But when you switch to a modern or neon font, this button disappears. However, a simple swipe across the screen to the left or right side will fix the situation.
Want to make a solid background? Easily!
Upload or take any photo, select the brush tool, click anywhere on the screen and hold until the screen is the color you want.
By the way, this problem can also be solved using the “marker” tool, however, then the background will be translucent.
And with the help of an eraser, you can later make an interesting pattern.
Hashtags in stories increase reach, but can spoil the overall picture. There are two ways to hide them:
This effect is very easy to achieve.
Write your text. Then copy the text, and make another inscription of the same size, but in a different color.
Place them on top of each other with a slight offset. Ready!
To do so, click share the answer, download the story and upload it as an image when you share the next one.
Repeat until you have shared all the answers you want.
Did you know that you can not only overlay elements on the video in the story, but also choose the moment when they appear?
To do this, click on the text (gif) and hold it until the slider appears at the bottom.
