Use Memoji on your iPhone or iPad Pro

You can create a Memoji to match your personality and mood, then send it in Messages and FaceTime. And with a compatible iPhone or iPad Pro, you can create an animated Memoji that uses your voice and mirrors your facial expressions.

 

 

How to create your Memoji

  1. Open Messages and tap the Compose button  to start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
  2. Tap the Memoji button , then swipe right and tap the New Memoji  button.
  3. Customize the features of your memoji — like skin tone, hairstyle, eyes, and more.
  4. Tap Done.

 

How to create Memoji stickers

Your Memoji automatically become sticker packs that live in your keyboard and you can use them in Messages, Mail, and some third-party apps.

Here's how to create a Memoji sticker:

  1. Create your Memoji.
  2. Open the keyboard, then tap the Memoji Stickers button .
  3. Select the sticker that you want to send.  
  4. Tap the Send button .

Memoji Stickers aren't supported on iPad Air 2.

 

How to use an animated Memoji in Messages

  1. Make sure that you have a compatible iPhone or iPad Pro.
  2. Open Messages and tap the Compose button  to start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
  3. Tap the Memoji button , then swipe left to pick your Memoji.
  4. Tap the Record button  to record and  to stop. You can record for up to 30 seconds. To choose a different Memoji with the same recording, tap another Memoji that you created. To create a Memoji sticker, touch and hold the Memoji and drag it to the message thread. To delete a Memoji, tap the Trash button .
  5. Tap the Send button .

 

How to use an animated Memoji in FaceTime

  1. Make sure that you have a compatible iPhone or iPad Pro.
  2. Open FaceTime and make a call. 
  3. When the call starts, tap the Effects button .
  4. Tap the Memoji that you want to use.
  5. Continue your FaceTime call with your customized Memoji. Or tap the Close button  to continue without a Memoji or go back to the FaceTime menu.

To change your Memoji or to remove it during a FaceTime call, repeat steps 2-4.

Manage your Memoji

Want to change a Memoji that you already created? You can edit the features, duplicate an existing Memoji with new features, or delete a Memoji.

  1. Open Messages and tap the Compose button  to start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
  2. Tap the Memoji button  or Memoji Stickers button , then select the Memoji that you want. 
  3. Tap the More button . Then choose Edit, Duplicate, or Delete. 

If you want your Memoji on all of your compatible devices, you need two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID, and you need to be signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID on all the devices. You also need to have iCloud Drive turned on. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive.

To use an animated Memoji, you need a compatible iPhone or iPad Pro.

Since Apple’s latest update to iOS 13 you can now customise your own emoji on WhatsApp – to illustrate yourself or, say, South African politicians.

"Memoji stickers allow you to customise your own emoji with anything from skin tones to freckles and hats. It then generates a set of standardised facial expressions for you to enjoy.

Creating the Memoji is super easy.

Go into WhatsApp and tap in the text box, which brings up the keyboard. Once you are in the keyboard, you'll need to tap the emoji icon next to the space bar. This will open your Apple emoji keyboard.

Swipe left and you should be able to find your frequently used stickers. Now select the "..." button.

Select the "..." button again. This is where the fun begins.

Select "done" once you have created your Memoji sticker.

Don't stress if you click "done" too early; WhatsApp saves the Memoji so you can edit it later. Simply click on the avatar again and adjust to your preference.

It's a particularly useful feature if you're having a fat day or get sunburned, and need to adjust your Memoji accordingly. 

To get it on Android: 

Once you, or someone else, has generated your Memoji on an Apple device, an Apple iPhone iPhone 6S or later, you can send them via WhatsApp. From there, tap the image and save it to your favourite stickers by following the prompts and selecting "Add to Favorites" and you have custom emojis ready to use on Android.

How to make your own stickers for WhatsApp on iPhone and Android

Stickers are a quick and fun way to convey your thoughts and emotions to your WhatsApp interlocutor. But not always in the standard set there is the right option. All you need is a few pictures and the Sticker.ly app, which is available for both iPhone and Android, takes care of the rest. The app has a smart background remover so you can create reaction stickers even based on your face. You will be able to surprise your friends with ingenuity.

To get started, download the Sticker.ly app on your iOS or Android smartphone. The next step is to collect photos that you will use to create the sticker. Upload the images you want or take photos that are suitable for use as the basis of a future sticker. 1. Open the newly downloaded Sticker.ly app and click the "+" button on the bottom toolbar.

Go to your WhatsApp chat and click on the sticker icon located on the left side of the text box. In the pictures section, select your set in the top row, and then click on the sticker you need.
