How to install instagram on chromebook

Instagram for Chrome - Download

Softonic review

Cathy BuggsUpdated 16 days ago

Instagram for Chrome is a free and simple browser add-on, which lets people view and interact with their original Instagram feed from the Google Chrome browser. Earlier, Instagram didn’t have an official website, which helped this Chrome extension attract fans from around the world.

Compared to Websta for Instagram, Instagram for Chrome has a simple and cleaner interface, making it easier to utilize and navigate. This program strongly supports its selling features like direct upload and download as well as direct messages. Keyboard navigation is added to its powerful capability also.

A quick and easy way to access images

Instagram for Chrome is quick to install and access. Like other Google Chrome extensions, its installer accesses your data at instagram64px. com and api.instagram.com. It gains access to your location, allowing you to view and interact with popular and nearby photos. While most people use InstagramTM on their mobile phones anyway, this shouldn’t be a major cause of concern. When people could only see and engage with Instagram feeds and photos from their mobile phones, it wasn’t possible to have the same access on PCs.

However, the status quo has changed, thanks to this special add-on from Chrome. It allows people to ‘like’ and comment on images from their Windows PCs. Additionally, you can access nearby and popular Instagram images. Unlike Picasa and other similar apps, this solution uses the native app’s API directly in your web browser. Since it’s a free extension, you don’t have to pay anything to gain access to your images and feed. With the PC extension, it’s easier and quicker to use Instagram on your Windows PC.

Easy management from the ‘extensions’ tab

Once the installation is complete, the Instagram download opens a new tab. This allows you to get detailed information about the developer, features, and more. On Chrome’s toolbar, you can notice the app’s icon. Like other Google Chrome extensions, Instagram for Chrome can be managed directly from the ‘Extensions’ tab. When you access and download Instagram from the extension, the first thing you notice is the website’s layout, which looks like a scaled-up version of the smartphone app. However, the add-on comes with some browser-specific controls.

If you click on a hashtag or name, the browser allows you to navigate with a mouse as smoothly as a touchscreen. In order to use the browser add-on, you need to click on the icon in the toolbar. It allows you to scroll through the native feed, leave comments, and like photos. These functions have the same feel and layout as the smartphone app. Additionally, you can click on the ‘three dots’ in the upper-left corner for several browsing options.

While Instagram for Chrome is an excellent addition to your Chrome browser, you can still probably experience some issues with the interface like difficulty logging out from the app. The interface feels similar to the official Instagram app for smartphones. However, you can’t easily go back to the previous page. To perform this action, you’ll have to select the last page from the ‘Menu'. With a few minor glitches, it is, nonetheless, a good way to instantly and effortlessly access photos on your IG account.

The perfect add-on for Chrome users

With the familiar interface, Instagram for Chrome grants you an easier way to browse, ‘like’, and comment on photos from your computer feed. It vigorously unblocks online users of the original API directly from the web browser. In order to browse through the ‘friend list,’ you can click on a hash tag or name. This is the most effortless and simplest solution to accessing the popular app on your PCs.

PROS

  • Simple and clean interface
  • Quick access to library
  • Full integration with Chrome
  • Access popular and nearby images

CONS

  • Not easy to log out

The answer is NO, as the Chromebook provided to you by the school is solely for study purposes. It has restrictions regarding installing any additional applications and is managed by an administrator. It is unethical to do any tweaks to bypass the restrictions and install apps of your interest.

Secondly, I have checked the internet regarding any tricks or tips to use Instagram on a school Chromebook. I could not find any legitimate app or service that can make it possible. Though on Chrome Webstore and on some other forums on the internet you may find a few apps claiming to use Instagram

However, there is a catch: many apps in the Play Store are not compatible with Chromebooks. For example, apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Uber, Gmail's Inbox, Chromecast, PayPal, and more are incompatible due to various reasons such as the fact that the Play Store treats Chromebook as an Android 6.0 tablet, lack of GPS on Chromebook, etc. D.
