The countdown to 2023 has begun, but not before taking a look back at your 2022. You’ve seen Spotify Wrapped, BeReal Recap, Instagram’s Recap Reel, but don’t sleep on Top Nine and Best Nine. Yeah, they apps are old school — the trend of sharing your top nine posts from the past year started in 2016 — but classics stick around for a reason. Both apps are back for 2022, and they’ll lead you to some great mems. To round up your best photos and videos in a grid that’s ready for you to share in an instant, here’s how you can get your Instagram Top Nine and Best Nine for 2022.

Before you get started, you probably already know Top Nine and Best Nine aren’t officially affiliated with Instagram, but they use your account to get you the round-ups. There are ~several~ ways you can get your top nine, but the OG app that came up with the trend is Top Nine, per its website they claim to be “the original Top Nine creator.” Other apps such as Top 9 Posts For Instagram 2022 and Top Nine: Best of 2022 Collage are good alternative options, but they will require an in-app purchase whereas Top Nine is free (yay!). This year, the app is removed its watermarks so your photos will be the center of attention. In the everlasting battle between end-of-year photo round-ups, there’s also Best Nine, which is also free, but Best Nine has a small watermark in the bottom right corner. (You can remove it with a one-time free of $3.99 for Best Nine PLUS or $1.99 per year.) Basically, the trend caught on real hard after 2016, and now, you have a lot of options for finding out which pics people liked most throughout the year.

The apps work by analyzing your likes and highlighting nine pieces of top performing content, aka your selfies, pics of your dog, and all the vacays you hit. It’ll show you the number of likes you received on each post before you share your top nine grid, so you know which posts got all the love. There’s only 1 days left in 2022 (can you believe it?), so hop on the top nine trend before NYE and look back on your year in photos.

FAQ's

You can generate your Top Nine collage for 2022 using topnine.co or the Top Nine apps! Just enter your Instagram username, email (to be notified when it’s ready), tap "Get my Top Nine" and boom! You’ll receive your Top Nine in your email box right away.

Top Nine is both an app, and an Instagram trend. The Top Nine app is a tool that we created to help you generate a collage featuring your Top Nine Instagram photos of the year. The app went viral and grew into a trend where every year millions of Instagram users, influencers, and celebrities share their Best Nine Instagram moments of the year using the Top Nine app.

The Top Nine trend was created by a team of engineers, marketers, and designers building awesome tools and apps for social media. You can learn more about who is behind Top Nine on our About Us page.

Your Top Nine Instagram posts selected by the Top Nine app are not only the most-liked Instagram photos. We believe that your Top Nine Instagram posts should represent your best 9 moments of 2022, and those are not just selected based on the number of likes they have. There's a very complex algorithm in place to select these. In fact, that’s what makes Top Nine unique :)

The algorithm selects your Top Nine Instagram posts based on a number of factors: number of likes, comments, among others. You can read more about how the Top Nine algorithm works following this link..

Top Nine is developed and maintained by a team with years of experience building tools and apps used by millions of users. Your data and Instagram account are safe, and we never gain access to your Instagram password because the authentication process happens on Instagram.com itself. You can read more about security and privacy using Top Nine following this link.

In certain cases, like when your account is private, we may ask you to sign in to Instagram to provide us with read-only access to see your Instagram posts. This sign up process happens on Instagram.com, meaning we don't have access to perform any other action than "reading" your Instagram posts. We don't have access to any settings, messages, or any other part of your Instagram account.

User privacy is super important to us. We never use your email address other than to make sure you get the best out of Top Nine. Top Nine is used by millions during December, which can cause some service delays. This means you may have to wait a few seconds for your Top Nine to be generated. However, entering your email enables us to deliver it to your inbox as soon as it's ready, so you don't have to wait on the app. Receiving this notification is just one use case, but most importantly, your email is our way to provide support to your account, in case you run into any issues. You can read about how we use your email and more about how we handle your data on our Privacy Policy.

Apps named "Best Nine for Instagram" are not provided by us. Many clones that claim to be Top Nine or similar services are currently available on the App Store. We receive messages from people explaining that they used our app when they've actually used an app called Best Nine or a Top Nine clone.

We understand this confusion as Top and Best are used as synonyms in many articles, but the name of our app is "Top Nine", and it's only available on topnine.co, topnine.app, and our official mobile apps linked from our official websites. If you use a different Top Nine app, the selection of the 9 photos will be different, and more importantly, we can only ensure the security of your account if you use our app.

Top Nine is the original app that started the Top Nine Instagram trend, and the one trusted by millions of Instagram users, influencers, and celebrities. That’s the reason why every year it gets to the #1 spot of the App Store in most countries, including United States . Also, the Top Nine algorithm, together with our commitment to data privacy and security , is what makes us be trusted by each of those millions of users. This enables us to continue building more creative ways to re-live and share those best moments of your year in new formats, building new tools for creators year after year.

This year, Instagram launched #Recap2022, a Reels template where users can add their photos and videos. However, Instagram is not choosing the Top Nine Instagram reels and posts of the year. Most people go to TopNine. co to find their Top Nine posts and reels.

That's why most of the 2022 recap reels have nine photos or videos, and everyone posting with the #2022Recap hashtag is also posting with #TopNine.

As creators of the trend, we love seeing the Top Nine trend is still alive!

Instagram has an advanced feature where users can choose to hide the like count on specific posts. Unfortunately, you need to enable like counts on all of your posts for Top Nine to work properly.

If you decide to change your settings on your posts, please wait up to 1 hour for Top Nine to refresh your Top Nine.

Find your Top Nine!

Used by celebrities and influencers, even by Kylie Jenner since 2018! Sharing your #TopNine has become the best way to rediscover your best nine Instagram moments from 2022.

Are there nine other top apps?

As we get closer to the end of 2020, this is the perfect time to look back and reflect on the past year, and if you're a die-hard Instagram user, there's no better way to do that than with your top nine on Instagram. This is one of our favorite features for Instagram and it seems to be more popular this year than ever before.

But if you're not familiar with Top Nine, you may not know where to start. Let's see what is Top Nine for Instagram, how to create one and what you can do with your Top Nine.

What is Top Nine?

Top Nine for Instagram is a tool created for the popular social network that allows you to automatically create a photo montage of the nine most popular photos of the year. The app has been around since 2015 and has become very popular, becoming a popular tradition at the end of the year for many Instagram users, regardless of the number of followers.

Top Nine has been a real sensation - from minimal Finsta accounts to celebrities with the largest Instagram follower base - so much so that you might be surprised to know that the app wasn't created by Instagram at all.

Both the trend and the tool itself were created by Beta Labs, a development team that works on a range of social media applications. Apps like Truth or Dare have given new life to parties around the world, while Canvasar and Designar have created art marketplaces and helped merchants bring augmented reality experiences to their storefronts via Spotify.

None of these apps, of course, made it into the top 10 of the millions of iOS and Android users around the world. In fact, over 17 million top nines were created in 2020 alone, and we haven't even made it to mid-December yet.

What does Top Nine do?

At its core, Top Nine exists to create that collage I mentioned above with nine of your most popular photos of the year in a grid format. But that's not all you'll see when you create your Top 9.

The app also collects the number of likes you've earned during the year, as well as an estimated average number of likes per post. If you're really curious about how many likes you earn per post, this is a great feature. If not, don't worry - you can turn this off before sharing your nine on social media.

Top Nine can also create videos of your posts rather than a custom grid if you like. However, you will need to sign into the app first, so follow the steps below to get started.

How do I create this?

Start by downloading the app from your phone's app store. Top Nine is available on both iPhone and Android, so follow these links to download the app for your platform.

Once downloaded to your device, open the app to begin setup. Start by entering your Instagram username. If you don't know what that is, go to the Instagram app on your phone and click on the profile tab at the bottom of the screen. Your username is at the very top of your profile.

After entering your username, Top Nine will ask you to send an email. This is actually an optional application, but entering an email address gives you additional benefits. On the FAQ page on the Top Nine website, the company prompts you to enter your email address so you don't have to wait in the app for your Top Nine to form.

The company says that December is an unsurprisingly busy time for their servers, and by entering your email address you can exit the app without leaving it open on your phone. Beta Labs also states that while receiving your Top Nine notification via email is the primary use case, providing your email also grants you access to their support team.

If you don't like the company keeping your email, go to TopNine.co/forget-me to remove your email and associated data from Top Nine's access.

After entering your email address (or completely bypassing the process), you will be redirected to your phone's browser and asked to sign in to your account. Top Nine will then request access to your basic Instagram information, including your media and profile data.

Click "Login" and you will be redirected to the Top 9. After that, only the waiting game remains. It took the app about four seconds to generate my first nine — well, my top four since I don't usually use Instagram for real posts — and once it was ready, I had a plethora of options before sharing.

First, as mentioned above, clicking on "Create Video" will convert your top 9 from the still grid into a shareable slideshow, displaying both your total likes and your top 9 photos.

Meanwhile, if you want to stick to the grid, the Customize button allows you to customize your top 9 before exporting, including the following options:

  • Total Likes
  • likes for post
  • Statistics
  • Bulletin header

You can turn them on or off as you wish, and your changes will be applied when you go to share your message.

Where can I share my top nine?

When you click "Share", you will see several options appear in the app. The main way to share your top 9 is to use an Instagram story, but that's far from the only option.

You can save your grid to your phone's photo library or press the "More" button to open your phone's own sharing menu. It allows you to send your first nine in a text message, post to Twitter, AirDrop to a friend, or even post to Instagram's main rival app, Snapchat.

If you don't see the app you want to use to share your nine, just make sure you save the photo to your camera roll. From there, you can share it on any platform of your choice.

Are there nine other top apps?

Of course! While Beta Labs' first nine started this trend, many other developers have followed suit. Searching the top nine in the App Store will show you a plethora of apps that do the same job, including:

  • Best nine
  • Top 9 for Instagram
  • Best grid for Instagram

Best Nine is another really popular app on the App Store with over 10,000 reviews. If you'd rather use the Top 9 than the Top 9, you can download the app from the link above.

It's always interesting to look back at the past year, and since 2020 also marks one of the toughest years in modern history, it's even more important. Top Nine makes it easy to go back and share some of your favorite memories from last year, and invite friends to do the same.

Instagram Top 9: how to create and share your own

It's New Year's Eve, so chances are your Instagram feed is filled with people sharing their annual top 9 review posts for the year. If you want to create and share your own top 9 on Instagram before the end of the year, here's how to do it.

First of all, it's quite funny that after several years of incredible popularity, the Top 9 trendInstagram still doesn't have a native way to create and post a year's worth of reviews right in the app. Instead, users are forced to rely on third-party apps to create their collages, some of which are less privacy-conscious than others.

However, in 2020 the Top 9 trend is back in full force. As you scroll through your Instagram feed this week, you've probably seen the top 9 posts from friends and celebrities. The idea is that these resumes break your 9the best Instagram posts in terms of likes for the year.

Windows apps, mobile apps, games - EVERYTHING FOR FREE, in our closed telegram channel - Subscribe :)

Since Instagram doesn't implement its own way to create your Top 9, there are several third-party apps that can fill this gap. The most popular way to create and share your top 9 on Instagram this year is with the rather aptly named Top Nine Instagram Apps on the App Store.

The app will ask you for your Instagram username. Enter it and select continue. Next, the app will ask you for your email address. If you have a special "junk" email address, I would suggest using it here (or you can enter something completely random).
