How to View Your Archived Posts on Instagram

By John Awa-abuon

When you add posts to your Instagram archive, where do they go? Here's how to view them...

If you're like most people, you have a few posts on Instagram that you would rather not have anyone see anymore. Maybe they're from a time in your life that you'd rather forget, or maybe they just aren't very flattering.

Luckily, Instagram makes it easy to hide these posts from view without deleting them thanks to its archive feature. But what if you want to revisit these images and videos later?

In this article, we will show you how to view posts that you've archived on Instagram.

What Does Archiving an Instagram Post Do?

When you archive a post on Instagram, it means the post is no longer visible on your profile.

However, the post is not deleted, and you can view it at any time by going to your archive. You can also choose to unarchive the post, which will make it visible on your profile again.

If you're active on Instagram, chances are you've had to hide a photo from your feed solely because it didn't fit into your carefully curated feed. But just because a photo doesn't fit into your feed, doesn't mean you don't want to keep it.

The archive feature allows you to hide these posts without having to delete them. This can be useful if you want to keep the post for sentimental reasons.

How to View Your Archived Posts on Instagram

The archive feature is only available on the mobile version of Instagram, so you'll need to use the Instagram app to view your archived posts.

That said, here's how to view posts you've archived on the gram:

The archive is located in the profile menu. Click on the 3 horizontal lines, the menu opens. Between the settings and statistics there should be an item "Archive".

If not present, solutions:

1. Update the application. Usually this is enough for the "Archive" item to return to the menu.

2. For some users, the archive has moved to the "Your Activity" item. Open the profile menu, go to the activity, scroll down - there should be an item "Archive". It can also be displayed simultaneously in the profile menu and in the "Your activity" menu. nine0003

How to return stories. nine0012 Stories cannot be returned from the archive, because stories are only stored for 24 hours. To keep them longer and be visible to other users, they can be placed in the actual. But a story from the archive can be shared with contacts in Direct, and it can also be posted as a new story memory.

To share a story, find it in the archive, open it, then click "More" to bring up the menu. To send to Direct, click "Send" and select a contact.

To place it as a story-memories, select the “Share” item in the menu. Instagram automatically puts down the date of the memory, that is, when the story was posted for the first time. nine0003

How to return a post from the archive. Open the archive of publications, click on the post. Then 3 dots in the upper right corner, select "Show in profile" in the menu.

*You may find that the post never appeared in the profile, although it disappeared from the archive. What to do in this case is to exit Instagram, remove it from the background (that is, close it completely). Then re-enter the application. The post will appear on the account page.

Live recording can be downloaded from the archive to the device or uploaded to the profile.

Conclusion

The temporary disappearance of the archive on Instagram from the menu is due to the update of the application and the fact that for some users this item has moved to another section (Your Activity). Perhaps the social network is testing where it is better to place the archive. Please note that this item may appear differently for users of iOS and Android devices.
