WhatsApp is a popular alternative to common messaging apps like iMessage and Facebook Messenger. Many people use WhatsApp on their phones as their primary means of contact with others. When you block someone on WhatsApp and that person tries to message you, you won’t receive that message.
Even if you later choose to unblock that contact, the messages they sent while they were blocked, won’t be delivered.
When someone sends you a message a single gray tick sign (or a checkmark) appears. Two gray ticks mean the message was delivered. When they turn into two blue ticks, it means that the receiver read the message. A blocked person can still send you a message, but it’ll never be delivered. The sender will see only one gray tick. The “read your message” notification won’t appear for them.

How do you know if you've been blocked? Easily!
First, let's see how it works. WhatsApp allows you to block contacts with whom, for one reason or another, you no longer want to have anything to do with. If you no longer want to receive constant calls or annoying messages from a particular person, then simply select him from the contact list and scroll down the page. There you will see the "Block contact" button. Click it and confirm this action. Now the contact you just blocked will no longer be able to send you messages or call you.
