From a legal point of view, the recognition of an organization as extremist entails serious consequences, primarily for the social network itself. At the same time, it does not matter whether such a network has its own legal form in Russia or is presented only as one or another application, Gadzhi Gadzhiev, a leading specialist at the Madrok law firm, explained.
“If we talk about social networks, then this will lead to the impossibility of such a network to freely spread among users from Russia. If the social network does not comply with the requirement of the court, and such decisions are made by the court at the request of the prosecutor, and does not stop users from accessing the specified network, then the implementation of such a decision is entrusted to a special body - Roskomnadzor.
