How to Share an Instagram Post Within or Off the App

  • You can share an Instagram post with people who aren't on the platform by copying the post's hyperlink, sharing it in a direct message on Instagram, or sharing the post to your story for your Instagram-using followers.

How to share an Instagram post using a hyperlink

Perhaps you've seen an Instagram post displaying a darling gift that you'd love your partner to get you for Christmas, but unfortunately they aren't on Instagram, so you can't just tag them in the comments section and expect them to see the post.

Luckily, you can copy the public post's hyperlink and email, text, or message the link to any non-Instagram users.

1. Open the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android.

2. Navigate to the post that you'd like to share.

3. Tap the ellipses, or "..." symbol,  above the top-right corner of the post.

4. Tap "Copy Link."

The link copied will be an "Instagram.com" URL format. Emma Witman/Business Insider

The link will be copied to your keyboard, where you can then paste it in a tweet, text, or other messaging app to share.

How to share an Instagram post on your Instagram Story or in a direct message

Like with sharing a hyperlink, to share a post on your Instagram Story it has to be public.

1. Go to the post that you'd like to share on your Story.

2. Tap the paper airplane icon below the post, next to the comments bubble.

A common way to pseudo "share" a post is to tag people in the comments, but sharing to your Instagram story gets the post out to all of your followers more effectively. Emma Witman/Business Insider

3. Tap "Add post to your story."

I'm not following anyone on here yet, but if I were, their profiles would also appear below, and I could share the post to them only, rather than my story. Emma Witman/Business Insider

4. Share the post like you would any other story, by tapping the "Your Story" icon on the next page.

You can also direct message the post to a friend by simply tapping the check mark next to their username in the window after you tap the paper airplane icon. You can scroll through the list to find their username or search for it in the search bar at the top.

How To Share an Instagram Post Via Email

Want to learn how to share an Instagram post via email? I’ve got great news for you. it’s possible and in this article, I’ll tell you exactly how to do it.

Sharing other people’s photos (or your own) from Instagram through email can be a bit of a challenge if you don’t know how to do it, and frankly, there aren’t a lot of people doing it. You don’t see a lot of people who share Instagram posts via email, right? Part of that has to do with the fact that most people don’t know that they can’t.

The good news is that once you know how to do it, you’ll be able to do it in a heartbeat because the process is incredibly simple.

How To Share an Instagram Post Via Email

  1. Open Instagram
  2. Navigate to your pictures (the icon of a head & shoulders)
  3. Select the image you want to forward.
  4. Click the … & select Share
  5. Choose Email.

If you want to share someone else’s Instagram photo, you can try this:
  1. Open Instagram
  2. Find an Instagrammer’s picture you want to forward
  3. Click the little flag that you can find to the bottom right of the image, to save it
  4. Navigate to your images & click the flag pic to show the images you’ve saved.
  5. Select the image you want to share & click the flag underneath the selected image
  6. Choose to Copy Share URL
  7. Open your email & paste the URL into the body of the email.

There is a third way in which you can share an Instagram post via email. This, however, demands you to use Instagram from the website and not using the app.

Go to https://www.instagram.com/, and now, go to the post you wish to send. Now, copy the link for each individual photo you wish to share, then paste them into an email draft. Have in mind, though, that you can only share the URLs to Instagram posts that have been shared from an account that is public and not private.

If you want to make things more complicated, there are a number of others ways you can forward Instagram photos through email, but why make it more complicated when there’s a built-in feature on Instagram right at your fingertips that allows you to send Instagram posts through email?

You can use online services such as Statigram, Webstagram to convert your Instagram page into an RSS feed and then send the RSS newsletter via Email using Email Service Providers.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp chats can be configured to be automatically copied daily and saved to your smartphone. If the user decides to uninstall WhatsApp, they will need to manually back up their chats.   • click the account icon in the upper right corner of the Facebook window,
  • select "Settings and privacy" and then "Settings",
  • select "Your information" on the left,
  • next to the item "Download information" click "View",
  • to add or remove data categories for download, check or uncheck the boxes on the right,
    • nine0009 configure other parameters: download file format, quality of photos, videos and other materials, date range (by default, information is downloaded for all time),
  • Click "Create File" to confirm the download request. The download request will then have a status of "Pending" and will appear under "Available Copies of Your Download Information Tool"

It may take up to several days for Facebook to prepare the archive. Then the user will receive a notification from the social network.

To download a copy of the requested data, you need:

  • go to the section "Available copies of the information download tool",
  • click "Download" and enter the password.

User can choose HTML or JSON file format to download files.

Twitter

To submit a request to upload an archive of tweets, the user needs to click the "More" icon in the navigation bar to go to the account settings. Then you need to select the item "Your account" in the menu, click "Upload an archive of your data", enter the password in the section "Upload an archive of your data" and click "Confirm".

The user will then receive a code to the account's stored phone number or email address. After confirming your identity, you need to click the "Request data" button. Twitter will send an email or push notification when the download is complete if the app is installed on the smartphone. After that, in the settings in the "Download data" section, you can click the "Download data" button. The archive is uploaded in ZIP, HTML, JSON formats. Dropbox

You can transfer files and folders from your Dropbox account to your computer. To do this, you need to sign in to your account on dropbox.com, hover over the file or folder you want to download, then click "..." (ellipsis) and select "Download". nine0003

This way you can download folders up to 20 GB in size, the number of files in which does not exceed 10,000. All folders are downloaded as ZIP archive files.

Dropbox Paper docs must be converted to one of the following formats to download to PC: DOCX, MD, or PDF. To do this, click "..." (ellipsis) in the document, select "Export", select the file format to download and click "Download".

The DOCX format will only be compatible with Microsoft Word, not Google Docs or OpenOffice. nine0003

Apple Notes

Most users sync their notes with iCloud accounts. To upload notes from iCloud on Mac, you need to:

  • click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner,
  • select "System settings",
  • select iCloud,
  • tick Notes,
  • select the note or notes to be uploaded,
  • click on "File" on the top and select the option "Export as PDF",
  • name the file and specify its location on a Mac,
  • click "Save".

Windows users must first install the iCloud app on their computer and then sync their notes with Outlook. In the iCloud app, you need to:

  • check "Mail, contacts, calendars and tasks",
  • click "Apply" at the bottom,
  • Run Microsoft Outlook on your computer,
    • nine0009 go to "File" → "Options" → "Advanced",
  • click "Export".

All iCloud notes will be available in the selected folder on the computer.

Trello

The export function can be found in the Board menu → More → Print and Export. The information is downloaded in JSON format. It is currently not possible to import the archive back to re-create a Trello board. nine0003

Trello Premium allows you to export all boards in your workspace in CSV and JSON formats. Also the user can include all their attachments as a ZIP file in their own format. To do this, go to the Premium Workspace page and select the Export tab.

Notion

To create an archive, you need to go to "Settings and members" at the top of the left sidebar, select "Settings" in the sidebar of this window, scroll down and click "Export all workspace content" (Export all workspace ). The user will then receive an email from Notion with a link to download the files. The link will expire after 7 days. nine0003

For Enterprise members, this option can be disabled at the administrator's discretion to keep documents available for internal use only. Enterprise plan users can export their workspace as PDF files.

Add attachments to emails in the Mail app on iPhone

The Mail app allows you to add photos, videos, and documents to an email. You can scan a paper document and send it as a PDF attachment. You can also draw an image directly in an email and send the drawing as an attachment. Depending on the file size, the attachment may appear inside the body of the email or as a view at the end of the email.

Attaching a photo, video, or document to an email

Emails can be sent with documents, videos, and photos attached so that recipients can easily download and save them.

  1. Tap the location in the email where you want to insert the attachment, then tap the button above the keyboard.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Document attachment. Tap the button above the keyboard, then find the desired document in the Files app. nine0003

      In the Files app, tap the Browse or Recent option at the bottom of the screen, then tap an item (file, location, or folder) to open it.

    • Attach a saved photo or video. Tap the button above the keyboard, then select a photo or video.

    • Take a new photo or video and attach it to an email. Tap the button above the keyboard, then take a new photo or video. Tap Use Photo or Use Video to embed it in an email, or tap Retake to take it again. nine0003

Scan a document and attach it to an email

You can scan a paper document and send it as a PDF file.

  1. Tap the location in the email where you want to paste the scanned document, then tap the button above the keyboard. nine0003

  2. Touch the button above the keyboard.

  3. Position iPhone so that the document page appears on the screen. iPhone will automatically take a photo.

    To manually take a photo of a page, tap the button or press the volume button. To turn the flash on or off, tap the button.
