Learn how to use custom fonts where Instagram supports them, and even where it doesn't.
Instagram is fairly limited when it comes to fonts. For instance, there is no official setting that lets you change your Instagram's bio font or even the fonts of your comments. But that doesn't mean that you can't change fonts at all.
In this article, we'll show you different ways to change fonts in your Instagram Stories, bio, comments, and even captions.
One of the easiest things to customize on Instagram is the fonts in your text-based Stories. What makes this easy is that Instagram allows you to choose between a range of fonts by default. There's a total of nine fonts at the time of writing. Here's how to change the font of your text-based Instagram Story:

As mentioned above, you only get access to nine fonts by default. Thanks to enterprising people on the internet, though, you can use fonts that Instagram doesn't support officially. You can do this using Instagram font generator sites. Good examples include Cool Fonts, IGFonts.io, and FontsForInstagram.com.
Using such sites is easy. You just need to copy text from them, and it will retain its font style when you paste it into Instagram.
This method gives you access to over 100 fonts, which dwarfs the nine Instagram offers by default.
Read on for step-by-step instructions on using font generator sites to change the fonts of your Instagram text.

There are many font generator sites, but they all work on a basic principle. You enter the text and copy it to wherever you want. We'll use CoolFont in this tutorial.
This will copy your text with the new font to your clipboard. 3 Images
Using this method, you'll be able to change your Instagram bio font, and fonts in comments, Stories, and even captions. While you can pick any font from one of these sites, keep in mind that all fonts are not equal.
Some are great and some will just make your text look funky and hard to read. If you don't like what's available, a site like IGFonts.io lets you create your own.

Instagram is a great social media platform, but, like other platforms, it does have its cons here and there. One of the cons is the limited access to more fonts natively. Thankfully, even without native support, you can change Instagram fonts for any text you enter on the platform.
Font generator sites like Cool Fonts and IGFonts.io allow you to change fonts in Stories, comments, your bio, or any other text.

If you, like me, have shamelessly spent too much time making your Instagram Story just right, I’ve got good, textual news for you. Instagram just released new fonts for Instagram Stories. Time to awaken your inner middle school who typed everything ~*LiKe ThIs*~.
On April 29, 2020, Instagram announced the forthcoming fonts in a tweet. Instagram first tested out the new fonts with a “small percentage of people” and is now making them available to all users.
As of today, in addition to the original styles (that aren't going anywhere), there are four new text styles for Instagram Stories.
If you want to access the new fonts, you’ll be able to do so pretty easily:
This YouTube tutorial from HiTech Talk gives an easy primer on how to use the new Instagram Story fonts, including how to change color and size. But if you're already familiar with editing text in Instagram Stories, you'll be able to edit and adapt the new fonts with no problem. The new options include a stencil-like text, a new serif font, and something that looks eerily like Comic Sans.
(It’s like if Comic Sans dyed its hair but the roots started showing — something’s different but it’s still familiar.) Instagram has yet to release the official names of the new fonts. So, for now, we will call the font Comic Sans Lite.
If you want to give yourself even more options on top of Instagram's new fonts, you can use igfonts.io to create text in different fonts to copy and paste into your Instagram story. That’s how people have 𝖙𝖊𝖝𝖙 𝖑𝖎𝖐𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖘 and 𝕥𝕖𝕩𝕥 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 and ᵗᵉˣᵗ ˡⁱᵏᵉ ᵗʰⁱˢ and even sıɥʇ ǝʞıl ʇxǝʇ. Is it obnoxious? Sure, but really what about Instagram Stories isn’t just a little bit obnoxious.
While you’re checking out the update, there are plenty of other Instagram Story hacks to try out if you’re looking to level up your Stories. You can make Instagram Story photo collages. You can change the background color of your Instagram Story. You can even post your Story to your main Instagram feed if you make something that’s grid-worthy. Here's hoping the new fonts roll out to everyone soon so we can Insta-story our respective lockdown accordingly.

Instagram's strong point is visual, so all elements are important in the design of a publication: from the background of the cover to the lettering.
The social network offers several fonts for text in stories. Each of them has its own purpose and “mood”, which can change the perception of the entire story.
The social network recently increased the number of fonts for stories, and now there are nine of them. Below is a listing of fonts in the order they are placed when editing stories in the application.
This font is recommended to be applied on a calm monochromatic background so that the words are clearly visible. Instagram settings allow you to experiment with fonts, their colors and backgrounds.
In order to change the font in the story, you need to:
The finished inscription can be placed on the substrate. To do this, after entering the text, you need to click on the “A” with stars” icon at the top of the screen. Each font assumes its own substrate, and clicking on this sign offers its options - light, dark, transparent.
The font in stories can be changed in size and color. In the first case, you need to adjust the height of the letters using the tool on the left side of the screen, moving the circle up and down:
The color of the inscription changes in the palette located at the top of the screen.
It must be admitted that the standard set of fonts for stories is very limited. If you want original writing, you can use special services, applications and bots to generate various fonts.
All of them work on the same principle: you enter your text, choose the font you like, and then copy the finished inscription to the story.
For example, using the site coolsymbol.com, it is easy to form text in the desired style:
The social network has prepared a surprise for its users: it turns out that nine standard fonts hide a secret tenth font.
To get it, you need to:
⚠ But for the secret font to work, stories need to be created in Latin and only from the iPhone.
Many Instagram fans have been using different fonts in their stories for a long time, but everything is the same for you? Why are there no new fonts in Instagram stories? And what to do with it?
Initially, several fonts were available when creating stories: modern, typewriter, with italics that glowed with neon.
But standard fonts were not enough for bloggers and popular personalities.
They wanted to stand out from the crowd and decided to look for something new in other applications for photo and video editing.
Instagram developers did not stand aside. More recently, they have released several new fonts. Only now they did not appear at all at once.
Why has someone been writing beautiful text in stories for a long time, while someone has nothing? Although there have already been several updates to the program.
This is a problem on the Instagram side, not on the user.
Instagram is such a strange thing that it introduces its innovations gradually and not all at once.
It is for this reason that 1 user can get new features instantly. And 2 people have to languish in anticipation.
What to do? Just wait until an update arrives from the system itself, and not an update of the application.
In the meantime, beautiful text can be superimposed in almost any photo editing application.
If you really urgently need this function, you can try to write to Instagram technical support. This is very easy to do:
Settings - Help (or Help) - Report a problem - Something does not work - describe the problem.
This option is not for everyone. But if you don't really value your account, you can start a new one. Most freshregs immediately have access to all functions.
