Can I Use WhatsApp on Several Computers at the Same Time

Even though people can use WhatsApp on both their mobile phones and their computer, they can’t use the messaging app across multiple computers. Should they log in on a desktop computer and then a laptop, the account will be disconnected from the desktop computer and remain connected on the laptop.

Summary and Some Warnings for Using WhatsApp on Computer

Even though people can use WhatsApp on both their mobile phones and their computer, they can’t use the messaging app across multiple computers. Should they log in on a desktop computer and then a laptop, the account will be disconnected from the desktop computer and remain connected on the laptop.

Among the advantages of using WhatsApp Web is the following:

• People can choose whether or not they’ll download the software or access it on a browser.

• Large computer storage allows people to download and store better quality multimedia content on their desktop.

• Easier to manage chats and communicate with friends and coworkers while working on a computer.

Despite the benefit of having a smoother experience with WhatsApp Web or Desktop, there are still disadvantages when using it.

• People who use WhatsApp on a public computer can risk getting their account accessed by others if they forget to disconnect.

• Strangers can access the WhatsApp contacts saved on the mobile phone using WhatsApp Web or Desktop.

• All the information used is taken in real-time from the mobile phone, so if it loses internet connection, then WhatsApp Web or Desktop will also stop working.

• The internet connection between the phone and computer is higher than what your phone alone needs.

• WhatsApp users cannot change their profile picture or update their status.

• WhatsApp users cannot call their contacts using either WhatsApp Web or Desktop.

10 WhatsApp tricks that most users don't know about

10 useful features of this application that will make your life a little easier.

1. How to become invisible on WhatsApp

If you think that not everyone needs to know when you are online, see your statuses, profile photo and information, use this trick:

  • For Android: Go to Menu > Settings > Account > Privacy and change your privacy settings.
  • For iOS: Go to Settings by clicking on the gear in the lower right corner of the screen, open the Privacy section and change the settings.

2. How to make messages more expressive

In addition to pictures and emoticons, you can emphasize messages in italics, bold, or strikethrough.

  • To write text in italics, use _underscores_ on both sides of the text.
  • Want to make text bold? Put *asterisks* on both sides of the text.
  • When you want to apply strikethrough to text, use ~tilde~ before and after the text.

3. How to send messages to a contact group without creating a group

To create a newsletter, launch WhatsApp. Go to Chats > Menu > New Broadcast. Click on the "+" or enter the names of friends to select recipients from your contact list.
The message will be sent to everyone you have marked in the mailing list. In this case, mailing recipients will receive this message as a standard one. Their replies will not be sent to other members of the mailing list, they will only come to you.

4. How to understand that you have been blocked

There are several "symptoms" that indicate that you may have been blocked:

  • You don't see the contact's last seen time or online status in the chat window.
  • You are not seeing updates to the contact's profile photo.
  • All your messages are marked with one checkmark (message sent), but never two checkmarks (message delivered).
  • You are creating a group and cannot add the contact of the person you think has blocked you to it.

However, the listed signs do not give 100% certainty that you are in the banlist. Your friend could have simply changed the visibility settings.

5. How to save your smartphone memory from autoloading media files

Caring WhatsApp, by default, saves all the photos that come during the correspondence. Only now, this often clogs the memory a lot, and you don’t want to deny yourself the installation of new applications.
Solution: Simply turn off photo autosave in the app's settings. For Android: Open Settings > Data and select media download options.
For iOS: Settings > Data > Media.

6. How to understand that the interlocutor is not who he claims to be

Almost everyone can use a "temporary number" or a special application to receive an SMS activation code. To check if your friend has a real number, just call him. Temporary virtual numbers are almost always inactive.

7. How to silence the speakerphone when listening to voice messages

It's quite simple: put the phone to your ear - WhatsApp will turn off the speakerphone and whisper the audio through the phone's speakers. How does he know you put the phone to your ear? This app knows a lot more than you think.

8. How to quickly find important messages

Sometimes you spend half an hour digging through the correspondence to find an important message. Don't waste time: highlight the message you want and click the star at the top of the screen. Now it is quickly found when selecting the line Favorite messages in the main menu.

9. How to find out who reads your private messages

Open the menu and click on the line WhatsApp Web. If the app prompts you to go to web.whatsapp, scan the QR code, and browse WhatsApp from your computer, that's great. This means that no one else is reading your WhatsApp from their computer using WhatsApp Web.
If you see the Computers tab on the screen and a list of sessions (connections) that you did not create yourself (not to be confused with your own connections to WhatsApp Web), this is a reason to suspect that someone else used your smartphone and reads your WhatsApp from your laptop.

10. How to get access to new "superpowers" before everyone else

For activists, pioneers and athletes, WhatsApp has launched a beta version of the application. With it, you can try out new features before they become available to everyone. Please note that the beta version may contain bugs and you will have to test them for yourself. To access, go to the WhatsApp Beta page, click on the "Become a tester" button and download or update the application from the Play Store

Top 19 WhatsApp Tricks on iPhone

Millions of people around the world use WhatsApp to connect with loved ones, colleagues and others. But few of us know that WhatsApp is not as simple as it seems at first glance. In this post, you will learn a lot of interesting information that will allow you to use WhatsApp to its full potential.

1. Use WhatsApp on your PC

This method will allow you to use WhatsApp on your PC. Although this is not a complete application, it is not a bad alternative at all.

WhatsApp usage will be limited to the Browser window and will only work if your phone is nearby and if you have a stable internet connection.

So, to get started, open web.whatsapp.com on your PC. On Athos, go to WhatsApp settings and select WhatsApp Web. Now the Application will ask you to scan the code that will appear on the PC.

2. Cancel automatic saving of media files to photo gallery

The problem is that WhatsApp downloads all files to your library. Your gallery is littered with images you don't even know exist!

In one of the latest updates, WhatsApp added a feature to stop this endless stream. Now you can disable this action in the settings, you need to select the "Media" item and set the item to "Never". Also, if you want to apply these settings to all conversations, go to Settings->Chats and turn off Media.

3. Silence mode for group chats

Now that you've disabled auto-download, it's time to turn off group chat notifications. To do this, swipe left on a conversation on the app's home screen, tap More, and select Do Not Disturb. You are offered three options for silence: 8 hours, 1 week or one year.

4. Replying to Notifications

iOS gives you the ability to reply to messages without opening the app itself. To perform a quick reply, swipe left on the lock screen. Then enter your message and click send.

5. Share PDF files

WhatsApp gives you the ability to send these kinds of files if they have been saved in a cloud storage such as iCloud or Dropbox.

You can send PDF to any conversations and chats. The easiest way to send is to click the "attach" button and select "share document".

6. Italic, bold and strikethrough text.

WhatsApp plans to roll out this feature globally, but it is already available to some users.

This uses three characters (*),(_),(~) respectively for bold text, italics and strikethrough text. Example:

*hello*

_world_

~How are you?~

7. Delivered and read messages

When you are in a conversation, WhatsApp marks with two checkmarks those users who have read your messages. But what if you want to know more details, such as when the message was delivered/read. Just swipe left on the message, a new window will open in which you can see all the details.

8. Change the background of conversations

By default, you have a green theme, but you can choose any theme you like. You can choose from the suggested wallpapers or set your own.

To do this, go to Settings->Chats->Chat wallpapers.

9. Marked messages

You receive a lot of messages every day and it becomes difficult to keep track of the most important ones, for this there is a mark "important". It helps to mark the necessary messages. To star a message, hold your finger on it, and then tap the star that appears. To view such messages, go to settings and click the flagged one.

10. Use 3D Touch to View Notifications

If you are the lucky owner of an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, you probably know that WhatsApp supports 3D Touch in its functionality. You can hold the app icon to access quick actions. You can also hold a conversation to see its contents.

11. View links and document history

For example, you want to see the history of how you shared documents or links in your conversations. To find out this information, click on the conversation icon and select "Media, Links, Documents". Then click "Links" and you will see a list.

12. Broadcast

If you want to send a message to several people at once, without creating a group, you can use the broadcast function. Click on "Mailing Lists" in the top left corner of the Chats menu. And click "new list". After that, select contacts and create a list. Then just send a message.

13. Chat history in "iCloud"

You always back up. Anytime. WhatsApp messages are saved to your iCloud account automatically. To manage this go to Settings->Chats->copy .

14. How to disable "was online"

WhatsApp provides a pretty good privacy system. To manage your privacy go to Settings->Account ->Privacy->was , here you can choose who sees when you were last online. You can choose: everyone, my contacts, nobody.

15. Block annoying users

To block a user, click on his icon and scroll down his profile until the “block” button appears.

16. All your messages

Sometimes messages arrive and we don't have time to read them. If you want to know how many messages have passed through you, go to Settings->Account->Storage .

17. Customize Notification Sounds

While WhatsApp on iOS doesn't support setting a separate ring for each contact, you can choose a custom ring for WhatsAp audio calls.
