How to create and update video playlists from Facebook Creator Studio

Playlists let you organise your videos based on themes or topics, and arrange them to play in any order you choose. This can help make your content more discoverable and keep fans watching longer.

Playlist actions

You can create and manage playlists for any Page of which you're the admin or editor. Here are some common actions you might want to take.

Create a new playlist

  1. Open the Content library tab and select Playlists.

  2. Select the New Playlist button in the top right.

  3. Specify your Playlist details:

    • Page
    • Title
    • Description
    • Cover image

  4. Select Create playlist in the bottom right.

  5. Add videos from your content library by clicking either of these buttons:

    • Add Videos
    • + Add Videos from Library

  6. Click to tick the box next to any videos you want to include.

  7. Select the Add Video (or Add (no.) Videos) button in the bottom right.

  1. Open the Content library tab and select Playlists.

  2. Select the New Playlist button in the top right.

  3. Specify your Playlist details:

    • Page
    • Title
    • Description
    • Cover image

  4. Select Create playlist in the bottom right.

  5. Add videos from your content library by clicking either of these buttons:

    • Add Videos
    • + Add Videos from Library

  6. Click to tick the box next to any videos you want to include.

  7. Select the Add Video (or Add (no.) Videos) button in the bottom right.

Edit playlist details

  1. From the Playlists section of the Content library, simply click anywhere in a playlist's row to open it. Alternatively, you can click to tick the box next to the playlist you want to edit, then select Edit playlist

  2. Select in the top-right to open the Edit playlist window.

  3. Update any of the following:

    • Page
    • Title
    • Description
    • Cover image

  4. Select Save.

  1. From the Playlists section of the Content library, simply click anywhere in a playlist's row to open it. Alternatively, you can click to tick the box next to the playlist you want to edit, then select Edit playlist

  2. Select in the top-right to open the Edit playlist window.

  3. Update any of the following:

    • Page
    • Title
    • Description

  4. Select Save.

Reorder or delete videos

  1. From the Playlists section of the Content library, simply click anywhere in a playlist's row to open it. Alternatively, you can click to tick the box next to the playlist you want to edit, then select Edit playlist.

  2. Select the Reorder button near the top-right corner.

  3. There are two ways to reorder:

    • Sort automatically by newest or oldest, using the options in the drop-down menu at the top
    • Manually reorder by clicking and dragging a video up or down in the list

    Delete a video by clicking its X.

  4. Select Save.

  2. Select the Reorder button near the top-right corner.

  3. There are two ways to reorder:

Add videos

  1. After you Upload video, specify your video details and settings, then select Next in the bottom right.

  2. In the Publishing options window, scroll down to the Add to playlists section. In the drop-down, you can choose an existing playlist or create a new one.

How to Create & Manage Video Playlists on Facebook

1. First of all, open the Facebook app on your smartphone. Next, tap on the Watch button.

2. On the Facebook Watch screen, you need to tap on the profile icon in the top-right corner.

3. On the Your Watch page, tap on the Your Playlists.

4. On the next screen, tap on the Create Playlist button.

5. Now, enter the Playlist details on the New Playlist screen – Name, Description, and Privacy Settings. Once done, tap on the Create button.

That’s it! This is how you can create a video playlist in the Facebook app for Android & iOS.

2) How to Add videos to the Playlist?

After creating a playlist on Facebook, you might want to add videos. To add videos to the playlist in the Facebook app, follow some of the simple steps shared below.

1. First, open the Facebook app and tap on the Watch.

2. You need to find the video you want to add to the Playlist. Next, tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the video interface.

3. From the list of options that appears, tap on the Add to playlist option.

4. On the Add to Playlist pop-up, tap on the Playlist name where you want to save the video.

3) Remove Videos From a Playlist

2. On the Your video playlists screen, choose the playlist from which you want to remove videos.

4. On the menu that pops up, select the Remove from playlist option.

4) Delete a Video Playlist in Facebook App

1. First, open the Facebook app and switch to the Watch. Next, tap on the profile icon, and on the next screen, tap on Your Playlists.

2. On the Your video playlists screen, tap on the playlist you want to delete.

3. On the playlist screen, tap on the Settings icon in the top-right corner.

4. On the Playlist settings screen, tap on the Delete Playlist option.

5. On the confirmation prompt, tap on the Delete button again.

That’s it! This will permanently delete your video playlist on Facebook.

Playlists and TV shows

Playlists and TV shows help you organize and capture video content. Playlists are disparate videos that share the same theme (for example, behind-the-scenes). Series are collections of episodes of the same show. Playlists and series are available on all Page types and are featured prominently.

Playlists and series will make your videos appear in related content recommendations. So you can reach new viewers and expand your loyal audience. If viewers open a playlist from a Page or News Feed post, the content will play in the order you specify. Each playlist and series has a unique URL that you can share on Facebook or other resources.

Creating a Video Playlist

Creating a Playlist in Creator Studio

Open Creator Studio and click Playlists on the Content Library tab.

Click New Playlist and follow the instructions to add a title, description, and cover image.

Click Add Videos to select videos from the content library and add them to the playlist.

In the coming weeks, you will be able to add multiple published videos at once to a playlist in the Content Library tab.

Creating a series

With series, you can show videos in chronological order (to tell a whole story in several episodes), release new seasons, add logos (show watermark) and trailers. An episode can only belong to one series, but it can be added to multiple playlists.

Each episode published will contain the name of the series as well as the name of the Page.

Creating a TV Series in Creator Studio

Open Creator Studio and go to the TV Series tab in the Content Library.

Click Create Series. Select your Page and add the name of the series. Select the order of the videos in the series: they can be ordered according to the age of addition or according to the storyline of the series. Add a description if you like. On the Advanced tab, you can also add a cover photo, a trailer, or a series logo (show watermark).

If the episode is part of a season, click New Season. If your series consists of seasons, then before adding episodes, you need to create a season. If you have a trailer, click Add Trailer.

Click Add series. To add previously uploaded videos to the series, click Add series from library. To upload a new video to the series, click Upload video. Select videos from the Content Library and click Add Videos to add them to the series. A maximum of 500 episodes can be added to each season and to each series without seasons.

Series order can be changed after addition.

In the coming weeks, you'll be able to add multiple published videos to a series at once from the Content Library tab.

Bulk Video Upload

Creator Studio allows you to upload multiple videos to Facebook at once and schedule them to be posted weeks or even months in advance.

Click the Create Post button in the upper left corner of the screen and select Multiple Videos from the drop-down menu.

Select the video files you want to download (up to 50 at a time).

Select the desired Page.

Edit the titles, descriptions, tags, and other video metadata as needed during the upload process.

Set publishing options for each video by selecting Publish Now, Schedule, Save as Draft, Premiere, or Change Date to Past.

After processing, the videos will appear in the Content Library tab.
