With more than one billion active users every month, it's easy to see how Instagram's customer service team might get overwhelmed. But unfortunately for users, this makes it so there's no way to speak with an actual customer service representative from Instagram. Instead, you'll have to use one of the automated methods.
You can open Instagram's Help Center to read troubleshooting guides that might help with your issue. And if you're trying to report a problem, you can shake your phone or open a post's options.
Quick tip: Instagram's parent company, Meta, does have a public phone number that you can call: +1 (650) 543-4800. But the number is entirely automated, and will just tell you to visit the Help Center.
How to get Instagram support through the Help CenterInstagram's Help Center is a robust support tool that offers guides and troubleshooting tips for most common Instagram problems.
There's nobody to talk to there, but the guides are written by real people.
You can find the Help Center on your computer by heading directly to the website.
And if you're using the mobile app:
1. Open the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android device and tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner.
2. Tap the three stacked lines in the top-right corner, then select Settings.

You'll be brought to Instagram's Help Center page, which is filled with hundreds of different support topics. Pick one of the suggested articles, or use the search bar to find what you're looking for.

Instagram lets you report individual posts, specific users, and comments. Just go to any post, account, or comment, tap the three horizontal dots on it, and select "Report" from the drop-down menu.
If you're not sure whether your issue can be reported or if someone has committed a reportable offense, review Instagram's community guidelines.

After you report a post, you might get an email telling you what decision Instagram's moderators made about it.
Instagram also accepts reports about issues with the app itself, like if a graphic isn't displaying correctly, or a menu won't open.
To quickly report a bug, shake your phone while Instagram is open. A pop-up should appear asking you to report the problem. You'll also be able to submit screenshots and other files.

Instagram is one of the most popular social media sites around — and one of the most addicting. If you want to tone down your Instagram habits, you can always delete or deactivate your Instagram account.
The difference between the two options is that deleting your Instagram account is permanent, while deactivating is temporary and lets you get your account back later.
To delete or deactivate your Instagram account, you'll need to use a desktop web browser or the web browser on your smartphone.
You can't do it through the mobile app.
Here's how to do both.
Quick tip: Once you've deleted or deactivated your Instagram account, you'll probably want to delete the app off of your phone too. Check out our guides on how to delete apps on an iPhone or Android device to do it.
How to delete your Instagram account permanently1. On a desktop or mobile web browser, go to the Instagram website and log into your account using your username and password.
2. Once logged in, go to the account deletion page.
3. From the drop-down menu at the top of the screen, choose the reason that you're deleting your account.
4. Once you've chosen your reason for deleting, you'll be asked to re-enter your password. Do so, and then click the blue Delete [Account Name] button.
You'll have to explain why you're deleting the account.
Instagram Instagram notes that it'll take a month for your data to be fully erased. Until then, your account will just be hidden from public view.
How to deactivate your Instagram account temporarilyIf you think you want to recover your Instagram account later, you should disable it temporarily. This hides it from public view, but lets you restore it whenever you like.
1. Log into your Instagram account on the web and go to your profile page, then click Edit profile at the top of the page.
2. At the bottom of the page that opens, select Temporarily disable my account.
The option to disable your account will be at the bottom of the page.3. Select a reason that you're disabling your account and re-enter your password.
4. Click Temporarily Disable Account.

0If you have previously connected your Facebook* account to Instagram*, you can log in using it. You won't need a password for this. Simply launch the Instagram* app on your smartphone and select "Continue as [your Facebook username*]".
You can also reset your old password and enter a new one. To do this, on the login page, click "Forgot your password?" (or "Get help signing in" on Android) and enter the username or email address associated with the account.
The system will email you a link to reset your password.
Instead of a username or email, you can enter a phone number. Instagram* will then send a verification code via SMS to reset your password.
Instagram* can ban any account for breaking the rules or by mistake. For minor misconduct, the user is banned temporarily. But after regular or serious violations, the account can be blocked forever.
If you have received a temporary or permanent ban, you can try to appeal it. The link required for this must be displayed in the login menu in the Instagram app*. If you don't see it, click More Details.
