2. From the Settings screen, go to Chats > Chat backup and tap on Backup to Google Drive option.
3. On the pop-up, select the Never option.
4. Now, tap on the Back Up button to start the process of Backing up WhatsApp only to the Local storage of your Android Phone.
The above steps will save WhatsApp only to Local Storage of your Android Phone. If your Phone has an SD Card, the WhatsApp Backup File will be saved to the SD Card.
How to Access WhatsApp Local Backup on Android Phone?
WhatsApp Local Backups are located at path Device Storage > WhatsApp > Databases. If you are using a SD Card, WhatsApp Local Backup can be found at SD Card > WhatsApp > Databases.
You can access WhatsApp Local Backups using My Files or File Manger App on your Android Phone.
1. Open the My Files App on your Android Phone.
2. On the next screen, tap on Device Storage or SD Card (if your Phone has an SD Card).
3. Next, navigate to WhatsApp > Databases Folder.
4. In the Databases Folder, you will find all the WhatsApp Backup Files, including the most recent WhatsApp Backup that you just created.
The most recent Backup of WhatsApp will be without date, while earlier Backups will have the Date of Backup included in their Names.

You are now ready to go, which means you can install WhatsApp on your new smartphone and restore all the chats you had on your other phone. If you have already tried to install WhatsApp but the backup was not recognized, please uninstall the app from your phone and install it again. To uninstall WhatsApp from your smartphone, go to the Android drawer (screen with all app icons), swipe on the app icon and drag it to trash . After uninstalling, open Play Store (trash can icon with ▶ ︎ symbol in the middle), search for WhatsApp in the latter and proceed to install the application by pressing the key Install .

Alternative procedure (offline backup)
If your new smartphone is not compatible with Google services or you don't want to use cloud backup for privacy reasons, you can also restore WhatsApp chats.

At this point, go to the Google Drive permissions page and remove WhatsApp from the list of apps that have access to your account. This will "force" WhatsApp to use offline backups instead of Google Drive online backups (which you can easily restore after installing the app on your new smartphone).
On a new smartphone
- Install whatsapp download from google play store. My favorite feature of Line Chat is the extensive selection of stickers not found in popular chat apps like WhatsApp. That's why I use Line as my messaging app. And for security purposes, I create and store local backups of my online chats so that I don't lose them even if I lose or lock my phone. In this article, I will show you how to create a local backup of Line chat on iPhone and Android devices.
Back up Line Chat locally on iOS and Android
Like other messaging apps, Line allows users to back up to the cloud. Whether you're using Android or iOS devices, there are several methods you can use to back up Line chats to Google Drive and iCloud.
