Whether you want to view old stories or unarchive a post, it's easy to access your Instagram archive at any time.
Instagram allows you to archive photos you no longer wish for followers to see on your profile, but you don't necessarily want to delete. You can view your archive to unarchive the posts or simply browse through old Instagram stories.
To access your archive, head to your Instagram profile and tap the three bars in the upper right hand corner. You can also create a highlight story from a selection of old posts or stories in your archive.
Here's how to get to your Instagram archive.
1. Head to your Instagram profile on the app by tapping the right-most option at the bottom.
2. Tap the three bars in the upper righthand corner.
Tap the three horizontal line icon at the upper right hand corner. Marissa Perino/Business Insider3.
Tap "Archive" next to the clock icon.
4. This will bring you to your Archive. It is automatically set to photos and videos you posted on your story. Tap the "Archive" label at the top to and select "Posts" to change the menu to show posts you've hidden.
Marissa Perino/Business Insider 5. Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner to open a pop-up with two options: "Settings" and "Create Highlight." Tap the latter option if you want to create a new highlight with some of your archived stories. Tap "Settings" to check your Story Controls, such as making sure photos are automatically archived.

After years of writing "LET ME HIDE PHOTOS FROM MY PROFILE" in Instagram's review section on the App Store, the mysterious people behind the social media platform have *finally* heard my pleas. (Bless. 🙏)
Thanks to an absolutely life-changing update, you can archive photos from your IG grid, hiding them permanently or temporarily from your followers. So instead of posting and deleting four times before I get my filtering right (it's an art, people), I can just hide the pic from my profile until I've decided whether or not it's fit for public eyes.
First, open the photo or video you want to Archive (yes, that's a photo of me and Millie Bobby Brown)(no, I will not actually be archiving it – the world needs to see this content). Click the three dots at the upper right corner of your photo, then tap the "Archive" option.

Immediately, the photo will disappear from your feed and show up in your "Archive" folder. You can view your archives via the little three dashes that appear at the top right corner of your Instagram profile. Click that icon, then select the "Archive" option that pops up.

From there, click the "Archive" option that appears at the top of your screen and select "Posts." The folder will hold all your hidden photos for your obsessive reviewing pleasure.

If you decide that the photo does deserve to live on your prof after all (as Millie does, obviously), tap the three dots again, select "Show on Profile," and BOOM – right back where it started, ready to rack up alllll the likes.

The Archive feature isn't just for your regular posts – it also saves all of your Instagram Stories automatically (yes, even after 24 hours). To see your Archived Stories, click the "Archive" option from your profile, again. At the top of your screen, it will say "Archive" with a little arrow next to it – tap that, then click "Stories" from the drop-down.

This will open up a folder with ALL your past Stories, which in my case involves leopard print Vans, mirror selfies, and a lot of jewelry.

From there, you can save individual pics and videos to your camera roll OR post them to the Story Highlights section on your profile. Just click the three dots in the top right corner of the screen (shown above), then hit "Create Highlight."
Then you can select which stories you want to appear on your Highlights.
I know I don't say it enough, but Instagram, I love you.

Instagram* allows you to save not only stories, but also posts. But how do you unzip a post? We understand in a series of short instructions.
Post archiving is a useful tool that allows you to save posts, live broadcasts and stories in a separate section. Only the owner of the account can see it, the content in the archive is not available for viewing by other users of the social network.
In everyday life, the function is useful if you need to remove irrelevant posts, which, for some reason, it is a pity to delete permanently. Commercial accounts can use the tool more broadly. For example, as part of an advertising campaign, they can temporarily hide all publications in order to post one big post with a promotion. It attracts attention, conveys a sense of scale and creates intrigue.
Posts can be hidden in order to temporarily place such ads in the profile old. In order not to delete old posts, it's easier to hide them. What about stories? They are automatically saved to archives, from where it is convenient to pull them out later to save to your phone, repost or send to highlights. For more information on how albums work in general, read the separate article “How to add and change Instagram Highlights*”.
How to work with archives and restore posts - we will tell further in small and visual instructions.
When archiving, the post will be saved with all comments, hashtags, tags and publication date.
It will be hidden from your feed and the feed of other users, only you will see it in a special section.
How to send a post to the archive:
The application interface on iPhone and Android is the same, so this instruction (and all subsequent ones) is relevant for any phone.
The social network automatically sends stories to the archive 24 hours after publication. But if they are not displayed in the "Archive" section, then saving must be re-enabled. There are two ways: through the settings and while browsing.
Enable saving stories through the settings:
Enable saving stories through the view menu:
Recently, deleted posts are stored for 30 days, during which time they can be pulled back. But for this you will need to verify your identity using a special code that will be sent to your email.
How to get back a deleted post on Instagram *:
After unzipping, the post will return to the feed with all comments and the same publication date as it was. It will take the place in the feed where it was previously, i.e. it will not be re-published. As I said above, the social network does not delete posts - it rather hides them in the archive with a further opportunity to return everything as it was.
How to restore photos from the archive on Instagram *:
You can also remove a post from the archive on Instagram* by clicking "Delete". Then the post will go to the trash, where it will be stored for 30 calendar days. See above for instructions on returning posts.
How to unarchive a post on Instagram*There are more opportunities for unarchiving stories: you can re-publish as a repost, send to a post, save to Actual or upload to your phone in the gallery.
How to download stories from the archive:
For more information on how to download stories, read the guide “How to download stories from Instagram*”.

How to get a story from the archive on Instagram* and publish it again:
Is it possible to return photos to Instagram* from a computer? Unfortunately, the social network site does not have a menu with archives of publications. Therefore, even if you switch to mobile layout, you will not be able to access the archives. Of course, you can install an Android emulator on your computer, download the application from Google Play and go into it, but it seems easier to use the phone.
On the other hand, posting from a computer is often convenient, especially if you have to type a lot of text on the keyboard and regularly make interactive stories.
These opportunities are provided by the delayed posting service SMMplanner - where you can also put many posts and stories into postponement at once, which frees up a lot of time.
Of course, the service will be useful primarily for SMM-persons and those who maintain several accounts and cross-post to several social networks at once. In any case, try it - the first week is free, and during this time it will become clear for sure whether you need such wide functionality or not.

To find out everything about the archives of posts on Instagram, we will analyze how to view them from a computer, how to go into old archived photos and open archived photos on Instagram on iPhone.
Modern Instagram has become more fastidious lately. If earlier any picture would have been suitable, now in the conditions of fierce competition, his tape requires more attention and a special approach. If you want to be popular and get more readers to subscribe to you, you definitely need to watch your style and apply the same filter for all pictures. It happens that a post is posted, and after a while I found out that it does not fit, but it is a pity to delete it.
In this case, the correct solution is to archive. Just like before putting unnecessary photos in a box.
A saved post in the archive is not changed in any way. It has the same text, likes and comments. Nobody will see it except you. However, you can send it to your friend in Direct. And when needed, it can easily be returned to the feed to the same place where it was originally posted - at the same date and time.
The archive was created due to the fact that users often deleted their publications. Sometimes by mistake, and also to hide it temporarily, with no particular desire to erase it permanently. The owner of the account was at a disadvantage, and Instagram also lost in its performance. Therefore, there is now a magical “Archive” button, with which you can save all publications, both with photos and videos. As a result, everyone is happy. And in addition to the new function, they came up with several useful applications. That's about them right now and will be discussed.
It is often a pity to delete such photos. That's when the save function becomes useful.
The same can be done with any account, warming up subscribers before changing activities or releasing a new product line. Everything is very simple here. Open the post and go to its settings. These are three vertical lines in the upper right corner. In the menu that opens, select the "Archive" button and click it. And everything is a point. This is the whole process.
However, first think carefully, because there will be no additional questions in the style of “Are you sure you want to archive this post?” Even if you change your mind, then we will also look at how to get a photo from the archive. But first things first.
It also happens (very rarely) that this button is missing. In this case, you need to go to page management.
Next, look in the "Privacy and Security" section, the "History Settings" subsection and go into it.
Find "Save" and check that the button on the blue background is turned on next to "Save to archive".
After the above steps, you can send your publications to the repository in any quantity.
Users often panic. And indeed, for this you need to know where the pictures are saved. And we will tell you about it now.
As a rule, many people immediately start looking for archiving in Settings. But it is hidden behind a button in the form of a clock with a reverse movement.
If you haven't archived any posts yet, the page will be blank and look like this.
However, if you archived a photo and you don't see it here, don't worry.
