How to install whatsapp on desktop
How to Set up and Use WhatsApp Web or the Desktop App
- You can use WhatsApp Web from your computer's browser by linking your account through a QR code from the WhatsApp mobile app.
- You can also use WhatsApp from your computer by installing the WhatsApp desktop application.
- You can open multiple WhatsApp accounts on your computer as long as you use a different browser window for each one.
Most people are familiar with using WhatsApp via a mobile app on their phone, but not everyone is aware that it's also possible to use WhatsApp on the computer desktop — either in a web browser or using a desktop app. The main difference? You still need to log into WhatsApp on the computer using your WhatsApp mobile app.
How to access WhatsApp Web or the desktop app
There are two ways to access your WhatsApp account on your PC or Mac computer:
- Use the web app. Go to web.whatsapp.com in a web browser.
- Use the desktop app. Install the WhatsApp desktop app on your Mac or Windows computer from the WhatsApp download page.

How WhatsApp Web differs from the mobile app
Once you've linked your computer and mobile app, you should see your WhatsApp Chats page in the web app or desktop app. Everything you do on either the computer or mobile app will be kept in sync and mirrored on the other device. New messages will appear in bold and you'll hear a notification on your computer. Click any conversation to reply from your computer.
WhatsApp web replicates the chat conversations from your mobile app. Dave JohnsonWhatsApp offers other features on the computer as well:
- Click your own account icon to change your profile details like display name and About message.
- Click any contact icon to control your interactions with that user. You can start an audio or video call, for example, mute notifications, block or report the user, and delete the chat.
- At the top of the window you can also start a new chat (including start a new group chat) and see starred messages.
There are some significant advantages to using WhatsApp Web or the desktop app. It's often easier to type using a real mouse and keyboard, for example, and you can keep WhatsApp on the screen, side by side with other windows to copy and paste information into chat messages. And you can easily log into more than one WhatsApp account at the same time just by opening them in different WhatsApp Web browser windows.
On the other hand, be aware that you always need your phone to log into WhatsApp on the computer — there's no way to use WhatsApp Web without your mobile app.

You’ll need to connect the web or desktop app to your phone

WhatsApp is a popular phone app that sends messages over the internet instead of through SMS. It’s available for both Android and iPhone, and you can also download WhatsApp’s desktop app or access WhatsApp from your browser.
WhatsApp is designed for phones, so the web and desktop apps are intended to work with your mobile app, not replace it. You can send messages through WhatsApp in your browser or on your desktop, but you can only make calls on mobile. To use WhatsApp in browser or on your desktop, you will need to have WhatsApp installed on your phone and already have an account set up. You’ll then have to connect the web and desktop apps to WhatsApp on your phone. Your phone needs a working internet connection in order to use the web and desktop apps and sync your messages across devices. The final thing to be aware of is you can only be signed into one browser or desktop app at a time.
To access WhatsApp from your browser:
- Go to web.whatsapp.com
- To stay signed in, make sure the box in the lower-right-hand corner next to “Keep me signed in” is checked
- Open the WhatsApp app on your phone
- Tap “Settings” in the bottom-right-hand corner of your screen in the mobile app if you’re on an iPhone. If you’re using Android, click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Then tap “WhatsApp Web” or “WhatsApp Web/Desktop” on your phone’s app
- Scroll down and click “Scan QR Code”
- Use your phone to scan the QR code on the webpage. Try to center the code on the screen.
- The code will time out after a little while, but you can click the green button with an arrow in it on the right-hand side to load the code again.
To set up the desktop app:
- Go to WhatsApp’s download page and download the app by clicking on the button for your device. The download links for the desktop app will be on the right-hand side.
- Open the download. This will take a little while to install.
- If you’re on a Mac, a window will pop up. Drag the WhatsApp icon in that window into the icon for the Applications folder in the same window.
- Double-click on the Applications folder in that window
- A second window will pop up with different applications in it. Click on the icon for WhatsApp in the application window.
- A window will pop up asking you to confirm that you want to open the app. Click “Open.”
- If you’re on a Windows device, opening the download will automatically open the app, skipping the Mac installation steps.
- Once the app opens, you’ll be instructed to follow the same steps used to connect to WhatsApp for web browsers. Start by opening up WhatsApp on your phone. As with the browser version, the box next to “Keep me signed in” is automatically selected, but you can choose to un-check it.
- Click “Settings” in the bottom-right corner of your phone screen if you’re using an iPhone, or click the three dots in the top-right corner if you’re on Android.
- Tap “WhatsApp Web” or “WhatsApp Web/Desktop” on your phone.
- Then click “Scan QR Code”
- Scan the code in the desktop app using your phone to connect the two apps

How to add whatsapp icon to desktop
January 8, 2021
By Adriano De Luca
Although WhatsApp is an application born for smartphones, over time it has become more and more ingrained in the habits of every person, so much so that it has now become a must to have it on your computer.
WhatsApp Web was born to meet this need: take advantage of the messaging services usually included on mobile devices - because they are associated with a mobile phone number - as well as on your computer screen.
Whatsapp is now much more than a platform for sending and receiving messages: it is a real social network through which you can interact with your contacts. Stories, calls and video calls are all features that expand the range of this application, making it even more important in the daily life of each of us.
The convenience of WhatsApp Web is that you can easily stay away from your phone without the risk of losing important messages, as it is obviously easier to send or receive files and documents in a safe, fast and informal way.
Download Whatsapp to have it also on the desktop of our computer, really very simple, but above all very, very convenient.
Download Whatsapp to have it also on the desktop of our computer, really very simple, but above all very, very convenient.
That's why now I will tell you exactly how to put the Whatsapp icon on your PC desktop to use it safely even in this “new” formula.
If you have a Windows device , to put the Whatsapp icon on the desktop, just right-click on the desktop of the PC and, once the drop-down menu opens, select the item " New Link " . A screen will appear where you will need to enter the link to WhatsApp Web , press forward. Enter a name for the link ( WhatsApp ) and click Done.
Instead, the desktop application automatically creates an icon on the desktop. You just need to click on this link, click the Download button for Windows and double click on the EXE file you just downloaded.
If you have a computer macOS , you can insert the WhatsApp icon into your dock, launcher, or desktop. To do this, you simply click on this link, finally on Install . Then the icon WhatsApp will be created on the launcher macOS . You can drag the whatsapp icon to the dock or drag it from the application folder to the desktop , automatically creating a shortcut to the application on the desktop.
Nothing could be easier, right?
Think of all the times when you can't take your eyes off your computer and can't get up from your chair to pick up a phone you've left in the other room. Just one click to check your WhatsApp and quickly reply...
Don't waste any more time, install WhatsApp on your desktop too!

How to install the WhatsApp icon on the phone screen
The WhatsApp messenger is incredibly popular, but inexperienced users do not always know how to install the WhatsApp icon on the phone's home screen. Advanced users can also accidentally remove the icon from the desktop and forget the recovery algorithm. We offer simple instructions. And a bonus for entrepreneurs are ideas on how to use WhatsApp to increase online sales.
What to do if the WhatsApp icon is removed from the screen
By default, the messenger icon appears on the phone's home screen immediately after installation. Clicking on the icon launches the messenger.
Removing an icon does not mean that you have to reinstall the application. Only the icon disappears, the program itself continues to work.
How to add an icon to the screen
If you accidentally deleted the messenger icon, we offer a simple instruction on how to install the WhatsApp icon back on the phone's home screen. There are options:
- 1 option. Reboot phone
- option 2. Open the phone section, which lists all installed applications and programs. Find in Whatsapp. Highlight the WhatsApp line with a long press. Without releasing, start dragging the icon. The application section window will change to the home screen. Release your finger and the icon will remain on the screen. Now you can move the icon to the desired screen with the same long press and movement to the right / left.
How to set one chat icon on screen
Whatsapp allows you to set not only the icon for enabling the application, but also set the icon for a specific chat on the screen. This speeds up the work with the messenger. No need to look for a separate dialogue among the list - open the conversation window right from the main screen.
Adding an icon is as follows:
- Launch WhatsApp
- Select the dialog you use most
- Highlight the dialog with a long press - press and hold for a few seconds
- A highlighted options box will appear
- Select "Add to Desktop"
- A new window will open. Select "Add Icon"
- Done. The chat icon will appear on the desktop of the phone
Putting the dialogue shortcut on the desktop is a very convenient option:
- Quick access to communication with a contact
- Don't miss a new message - a green circle will appear on the label
WhatsApp - sales tool
WhatsApp is currently the most popular instant messenger in the world. That is why online marketers in 2021 recommend using WhatsApp marketing for business. It doesn’t matter what you do – an online store, blogging, online sales, courses – it is important to be in touch with customers in a messenger convenient for them. The statistics say the following:
- 65% of users prefer to communicate with sellers and order services through text dialogs in instant messengers, not using phone calls.
— More than 66% of users say that the purchase was influenced by the active communication of brand representatives in correspondence in the messenger chat.
- Willingness to communicate in instant messengers, the speed of responses in the chat increases the level of customer confidence in the company0003
— Insert WhatsApp widget on the site, landing page
— Use the customer base: send notifications to potential customers about promotions, new products, expanding the range of services. Such actions encourage purchase.
How to transfer communication with customers to WhatsApp
- Place an icon on the site,
- insert a link to the chat in the mailing list,
- insert a transition link in the description of a social network account.
While Facebook allows multiple links, Instagram restricts online entrepreneurs and bloggers. Here you can leave only one link in the profile header. Some enter the phone number, but the prospect of rewriting the phone numbers only repels users. Taking orders via Direct Instagram is inconvenient with a large flow of requests. Over time, Direct will fill up with unread messages, some orders will be lost. In addition, Direct does not allow you to create a client base, only manually.
The most effective tool for collecting orders through messengers in 2021 is a multilink.
Use the Hypolink multilink service. This is a website builder that creates an online business card. More than 125,000 such sites have been created using the service.
The convenience of a multilink is that all links and promotional offers are in one place.
- Place here the buttons to go to the Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger chat.
- Insert payment buttons, accept payments directly from the site.
