How To Get Your Music On Instagram Stories and Reels
Stories and Reels now account for the majority of content being consumed on Instagram. This means you should be posting on Stories regularly (we suggest at least five times a day) and Reels once per week (or more if you are capable!). Instagram’s In-App Music LibraryInstagram has their own in-app Music Library. Both Instagram and Facebook get their lyrics from a platform called Musixmatch. The music and lyrics you see in Stories are pulled directly from the Musixmatch catalog. To get your music in their library, first you’ll need to become a Verified Artist.
Here is a step-by-step guide to add, edit, and sync your lyrics to Musixmatch:- Download the Musixmatch desktop app
- Sign in with the account you just made
- Connect your preferred streaming service
- Play your song (From Spotify or Apple Music – the app will show the lyrics automatically)
- If your lyrics aren’t available, click “Add lyrics” and type them out by hand
- Review and Edit the lyrics to make sure everything is correct – and sync them
- You’re done!
Add your music to your story with the “music” sticker and start sharing it with your followers!
The Spotify & Apple Music AppsOne way to get your music on Instagram Stories is to share your music straight from the Spotify App on your phone. When you share from it your Story will display your cover art or “Canvas”, song title, and your artist name, along with a link which will show up under your username for fans to click which will lead them to your track on Spotify. Using the Spotify App unfortunately does not offer a way for your music to play during your story.
The same goes for the Apple Music App. When you share to your Story, it will display your cover art, song title, and your artist name, along with a link which will show up under your username for fans to click which will lead them to your track on Spotify. Using Your SmartphoneGetting your music on your Instagram Stories and Reels can be as simple as playing it in the background. Open Spotify or Apple Music and start playing your song through your phone speakers. Go back to the Instagram app, swipe over to story, and start recording. The microphone will pick up the song that you have playing in the background. You can add text to let people know the name of the song and where they can find it. This is a quick & easy trick to get your music heard.
Pre-Edited VideosYou can also use apps like iMovie to create an Instagram Story or Reel video. You can use a still, or a moving video, and drag your music into the background of the video. You can also take advantage of text options in iMovie or on Instagram Stories themselves. You will need to export the video as a .mp4, then AirDrop or send it to your phone and save it to your camera roll.
Once saved to your camera roll, open the Instagram app, swipe over to Stories, and click the little icon in the bottom left to open your camera roll. Click on the video and it will open in Instagram Stories for you to post.
Using Your Music on Instagram Stories and ReelsNow that you know how to get your music into Instagram’s in-app library, let’s talk about how to use it.
After you open Instagram Stories or Reels and take a photo or video (or upload one from your camera roll), swipe up. You will see the display of stickers that Instagram offers for their Stories. Click the “Music” sticker.
Next, start searching for your music in their search bar. Click on the song you’re looking for and it will open as an overlay on your Story or Reel. Tap on the sticker itself to change it. There are multiple options – some are cover art/song title display options, and others are font options for the lyrics (our favorite option)!
Note: With the 2021 Instagram roll-out of the Music sticker globally, there have been a lot of issues. Business accounts may only be able to access a small amount of royalty-free music (this comes from Facebook’s sound library). The good news is that there is an easy fix to this! Switch your account from a Business account to a Creator account and BOOM, problem solved! (Plus, you still get things like insights so there is not much of a difference).

Finding the perfect track for your Reels has become a lot easier, thanks to Instagram adding a new Audio tab to help you do just that. The Facebook-owned app has dedicated a whole search tab to audio content, making it easier for creators to find the perfect song or audio content for their Instagram content.
Following the success of Instagram Reels and Stories due to their audio-visual nature, Instagram has added a tab to search for and find audio tracks in its Explore page.
This article will discuss what the new feature is about and explain how to use it to find the perfect audio for your Instagram Reels.
Find Your Favorite Tracks Using the Audio Tab on the Explore Page
The new Audio search tool lets you search for songs and audio within the Instagram app using keywords. When you tap on a song, Instagram will show you a list of Reels that have sampled that sound.
This can help you decide if that particular song is a good fit for the type of Reel you want to include it in.
It also allows you to see the latest trending Reels using that song, which can both serve as inspiration, and give you an opportunity to have your Reel seen by a wider audience if you decide to hop on that trend by using that song in the same way.

How to Search for Audio on Instagram

Using Instagram's Audio search tab is as easy as searching for anything else on Instagram. The feature is similar to TikTok’s Sounds tab, which could signal that Instagram is trying to win over the short-form video market that TikTok has captured so well.
Follow the steps below to start using the Audio tab to find your favorite tracks:
1. Launch the Instagram app.
2. Tap the search icon at the bottom-left of the screen.
3. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen. This will open up the search page with different tabs as before, with the Top tab automatically selected.
4. Now select the Audio tab in between the Accounts and Tags tabs.
5. Finally, type the name of a song or artist and select the one you're looking for from the list provided.

Instagram has announced the launch of new features in Russia. Users will have access to a TikTok-like Reels video service and a music sticker in Stories. With it, you can add music to your stories and answer questions with songs. Russian Facebook users will be able to pin it in the profile header so that it plays when the page is opened
Starting June 23, Russian Instagram users will begin accessing Reels, a platform for short videos, the company said.
With Reels, you can shoot and edit videos up to 30 seconds long, apply AR effects to them, and use the green screen effect to change the background. In Reels, you can add music from the app's library or choose from trends or recommendations. Users will also be able to create their own original audio, and if their account is public, other users will be able to use this audio in their videos.
Videos created using the new feature can be published in Stories or Post format, optionally limiting the audience. In addition, Facebook and Instagram are also launching a new music sticker in Stories. To add music to your Stories, you will need to follow these steps:
- open the camera in the application, select a photo or video from the gallery, click on the sticker icon and select the Music sticker;
- find any song from the library, select a fragment, add the name of the artist and the name of the song. If the composition has lyrics, it will automatically appear on the screen;
- Click on a sticker to change the text style and animation. The sticker can be moved, rotated and resized.
With the release of the music sticker, Instagram and Facebook users will be able to answer questions in Stories with songs. Instagram Music not available in your region? Here's how to get it

From time to time, you may come across Instagram Stories that have "music", and whenever you turn them on, the app says: "Instagram music is not available in your region." Well, Instagram Music is the latest addition to Instagram Stories that allows you to add a small music clip to your stories. Clicking on it plays the song and users can reply with a message or share the song with their story.
I wanted to try this feature, but for some reason I couldn't find it anywhere. It turns out that Instagram only launched the feature in a few countries such as Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Sweden, the UK, and the US. If you live outside of these countries, you can't watch other people's music on Instagram or create your own. Luckily, with this guide, there is a way to not only add music to your stories, but also access music in other people's stories. Let's start.
This isn't Spotify Music
Instagram music is different from the Spotify stories you've been watching in your Instagram feed. Unlike Instagram Music, Spotify only allows you to post the album art of the song you are listening to on Spotify, and there is no sound in these stories. If you want to add Spotify history, please go to Spotify, play the song and click the "Options" button on the top right corner. Click the Share button and select Instagram Stories. The app will open Instagram and put the album art as a story preview and you can post it as your story or DM to your friends.
Like Spotify, Instagram Music is licensed by record companies and they can only release this feature in those regions. To get around this geo-restriction, you can use a good VPN to access your Instagram music. Well, there are more steps to take here than just running a VPN. This works on both Andriod and iOS devices.
Instagram music is not available in your region - here's how to fix it
First, uninstall the Instagram app from your device. This is very important because the app is registered in your country the first time you launch the app.
After uninstalling the app, enable VPN on your phone. use Smart DNS Proxy But you can use any VPN and it should work fine. SurfEasy is a free alternative if you don't need a paid VPN. Make sure you've connected a server from one of those countries, otherwise you won't see the Music button.

Once your VPN is enabled, go to the Play Store and install Instagram again. After installation is complete, sign in to your account.
Now tap the add story button or swipe up on the home screen in the Instagram app. Now look in the lower left corner, you will see the Music tab. You can record a video by pressing a button and then selecting the music of your choice.
You can simply add a short 15 second video to your stories and adjust the slider to select your favorite part of the song. Pretty neat, isn't it?
What's more, you can also add music to photos. Go to your story and take a picture as usual. Press the sticker button and select music. Find your favorite track, scroll down to your favorite snippet and add it. Spread the story.
You can move the music board around the story page and place it anywhere, it will show up as a static image and display the "Instagram Music is not available in your region" error if the person viewing your story is not from one of the countries.
