The Facebook app on your iPad gives you access to most of the features you'd enjoy when using the social media platform on a computer: viewing friends' posts and pictures, adding your own photos and videos, updating your status, and more.
However, one thing the Facebook app does not allow is ready use of Facebook Messenger.
To access Facebook Messenger on your iPad, you need to get the separate Facebook Messenger app.
But you can't simply log out of Messenger using the Messenger app — for that, you need to go back into the main Facebook app and follow these steps.
1. From the home page of the Facebook app on your iPad, tap the three parallel lines at the bottom right corner of the page.
Select the "Menu" option in the bottom right. Steven John/Business Insider2. Scroll down and then tap the "Settings & Privacy" tab.

If you want to continue using the Facebook platform, all you need to do is change your security and privacy settings.
You can also temporarily deactivate your account so that you can restore it in the future.
The last option is to permanently delete your Facebook account. We'll cover all three options below. All of them are available on the iPhone and iPad app, as well as on the Facebook website.
Since deleting your account cannot be recovered, you can download a copy of all your data from Facebook. Read about how to do this here. nine0003
3. Select Account Management > Deactivate and Delete.
4. Select the option you want and follow the instructions on the screen.
Please note that completely deleting your account will also delete the Messenger app and all your messages. Within 30 days of deleting your account, you can change your mind and restore it. nine0003
This is how Facebook describes account deactivation:
When you deactivate your account, your profile will not be visible to other people and they will not be able to find you. Some information will still be available to other people. For example, the messages you sent to your friends.
Within 30 days of deleting your account, you can change your mind and cancel the deletion. When 30 days have passed, your account and all information will be permanently deleted and you will not be able to recover them.
It may take up to 90 days for your data to be completely deleted. While the deletion is in progress, the data will not be available to other people on Facebook. nine0003
Here you can configure various options related to the security and privacy of your account.
