How to go ghost on instagram
How to appear offline on Instagram
Quick Answer: To appear offline on Instagram, go to your profile, tap the three-dot icon, then tap Settings>Account>Show Activity Status. Then turn off the “Show Activity Status” toggle. This prevents others from seeing when you were last active.
Did you know you can change your Activity Status and appear offline on Instagram? Well, yes, you can.
Using the ‘insta offline’ trick on Instagram lets you fly under the radar and avoid unwanted interactions with other users.
The platform includes an Activity Status feature that tracks how long it’s been since you were online and lets your friends know when you’re active on the platform.
As you can imagine, that has the potential to get a little invasive. Fortunately, Instagram only shows this to users you follow or message privately.
But it’s still nice to be able to hide that Activity Status, so you don’t have to worry about everyone knowing what you’re up to at all times.

What does appearing offline on Instagram do?
Image: UnsplashAs we mentioned briefly, appearing offline on Instagram does several different things. And it all revolves around the Activity Status.
First, turning off your Activity Status to appear offline on Instagram will hide your status from other users.
That means nobody can see when you actively browse images and videos on the platform.

Additionally, toggling your Activity Status off will also hide the counter that tells people how long it has been since you were last offline.
So, you can essentially hide every aspect of Instagram’s Activity Status for your profile.
However, doing it also means you can’t see anybody else’s Activity Status.
So if you want to know when others are online, you’ll have to continue to let them know you are online.
Why would you want to appear offline on Instagram?
There are several reasons why you might want to appear offline on Instagram.
Maybe you’ve got that annoying aunt who won’t leave you alone whenever they find out you’re online.
Or maybe there’s someone you’ve connected with in the past that takes advantage of your Activity Status.
Although, it might be a better idea to go ahead and block that person completely.
Whatever your reason for wanting to appear offline on Instagram, the feature can be an incredibly useful tool.
And you can always go back and toggle the feature back on if you want to show your friends you’re online again.
How to go offline on Instagram’s app
Image: KnowTechieSince Instagram is primarily used on mobile devices, this will likely be the most useful section for most people.
First, we’ll look at how to toggle off your Activity Status on the Instagram mobile app for iOS or Android.
The menus might look a little different, depending on what kind of phone you have. But the processes are the same either way.
-
Open Instagram and tap your profile picture
-
Select the hamburger menu (three-line menu) in the top right
-
Select Settings
-
Tap Privacy
-
Scroll down and click on Activity Status
-
Lastly, toggle Activity status off
After toggling off this setting, you will begin to appear offline on Instagram.
And whenever you want to appear online again, just repeat the same steps and toggle Activity Status back on.
Screenshot: InstagramMeta originally focused on developing Instagram as a mobile app.
Thankfully, that’s changed as the company has added features to Instagram’s desktop site to make it work more like an app.
And fortunately, you can at least use the website to toggle your Activity Status.
How to appear Invisible on Instagram’s desktop site:
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner
- Select Settings
- Click Privacy and security
- Toggle the Show activity status box off
That’s all there is to that.
Once you toggle the Activity Status box off from that menu, your online status and history are essentially invisible to everyone.
Remember, you also can’t see other users’ Activity Status if you’ve toggled this option off.
And if you ever change your mind, you can follow the same steps to return and turn your Activity Status back on again.
Image: KnowTechieTons of people like to browse Instagram to keep up with friends or their favorite creators.
But you don’t have to let everyone know that you’re online when you’re browsing the platform.
Instagram’s Activity Status lets you choose when you want people to see that you’re online.
Of course, it also means that you won’t be able to see other users’ Activity Status with yours turned off. But that’s a small price for extra privacy on the platform.
You can change your Activity Status on Instagram regularly.
So get familiar with this process and start browsing Instagram on or offline. The choice is always yours.
Are you keeping this feature turned on? Carry the discussion over to our Twitter or Facebook.

How to Hide Your Instagram Online Status
Most social media networks and chat platforms these days include a feature that shows when a user was last online or last active on the service, which can be either helpful or a hindrance, depending on your personal or business situation.
WhatsApp includes an optional "Last Seen" status for the person you're chatting with in a conversation thread, while Instagram tells you how long it was since a user was active when you're viewing messages from them in your Direct inbox. Instagram also shows a green dot next to their profile picture and name if the person is currently interacting with the app.
Sometimes though, for whatever reason, you might not want someone – or indeed anyone – to know when you were last active on social media. Fortunately, WhatsApp and Instagram both allow you to hide your activity status in the app. Here our focus is on how to hide your Instagram status, but you can find how to do the same thing in WhatsApp in our dedicated how-to article.

Overview of Instander. Mod with stealth mode for Instagram
Instagram, in terms of third-party tools and clients, is a very closed social network. Download a photo, upload a photo from a computer, hide your status - all this is not available to a regular user. But there is always a way out of any situation.
Instander is an Android mod for the official Instagram client with ghost support and the ability to download images.
Installation
Apparently, Instander is often banned from Google Play. Because to install, you need to download the APK file from the repository or the developer's Telegram channel.
There are two versions of the application: Original and Clone. The only difference between them is that before installing Original, you need to uninstall Instagram. And Clone is installed as a separate application.
How safe it is to install a third-party application on a smartphone and enter data from your Instagram account into it - decide for yourself. Sources are closed. nine0003
Instander features
I won't talk about Instander features as an Instagram client. The application is a clone of the official client and 100% duplicates all its features. But the mod features are activated in the application settings.
There are many settings, and each section has several options:
- Download controls the settings for downloading media from posts;
- Privacy helps you disable ads and analytics; nine0028
- Ghost mode hides the status of reading posts, the status of "writing" and viewing stories;
- Quality enhancement is responsible for various quality parameters of any type of content;
- Gestures help you set up alternate gestures for browsing the feed.
There are a few other settings, but they are not so interesting anymore. The most hardcore users can activate the developer settings, subordinating the social network even more. nine0003
Just one click to download media:
It's great to be hidden yourself. And to know everything about others is even better. Therefore, you can use special services for audience analysis, like InstaHero. They literally give out information such as the location, gender and age of your subscribers in just one click, and also allow you to identify bots and dead accounts.
If you are looking for a way to enable ghost mode on Instagram or just download a photo, then Instander is your only option. nine0003
The main question to answer for yourself is whether you should trust your data to a third-party application. If yes, feel free to install and make Instagram a little more convenient.

I mean, of course, ghost Instagram accounts.
⚡️I propose to figure out what it is, get rid of evil spirits and turn it into real, live, full-fledged bloggers. Not everyone, however, has a chance. And yet…
⚡️Why did I call such accounts ghosts? Yes, because, like real ghosts, they seem to exist, but no one ever sees them. nine0003
👇So, meet: Instagram ghost accounts that can still be brought back to life, and who still have a chance
✔️They make posts every day, seven days a week, or even more than one post a day. And they post stories in 30 pieces. It is unlikely that anyone will master such a volume of content, even if it is super bomb.
👉🔗 Instagram Explosive Content - How to Prepare and Serve? nine0006
✔️ Only friends, colleagues and relatives read such authors. And that's not so much because it's useful and interesting, but to laugh at their idea of becoming bloggers.
✔️Such ghosts do not live long. Burnout sets in very quickly and they eat themselves. And all because they are constantly doing something, they spend a lot of time, but there was no result, and no.
✔️The self-esteem of these guys drops and they give up, quit their account and get depressed. But they could become excellent bloggers. Still, with such a performance! nine0003
✔️How to revive these ghosts?
It's quite simple: they need to realize that blogging is not only texts, videos, Stories activity and live broadcasts!
✔️Content is important, but not only. You still need to do promotion. And it’s enough to start with the simplest free promotion methods, such as likes, comments from bloggers, saving and reposting useful posts, direct communication, and others.
✔️Even free promotion methods at the initial stage will give a good result, inspire and motivate you to work further. And then you can start targeting and buying ads from bloggers. And that's it: the ghost will turn into a live, full-fledged, growing account. nine0003
👻Ghost on Instagram #2
🎃It's the opposite here. The promotion is in order, but the trouble is with the content.
✔️They rush from one topic to another, talk about everything and nothing. These users are constantly following big bloggers and comparing themselves to them. They consider themselves LifeStyle, that is, they talk about certain niches in life. For example, about health, hobbies, self-development.
✔️These bloggers are too self-centered and stick out their ego a lot. It is for this reason that they remain ghosts. nine0003
✔️ Such ghosts can be given the following advice:
“Instagram is not only about you, your personality and your interests, but also about how your personality can motivate, inspire, in short, can be useful to other people. If you realize this, then turn from a ghost into a wonderful blogger.
✔️This does not mean that you need to stop talking about yourself and give only useful and expert content. It just needs to shift the focus a bit.
✔️It's not enough just to tell how you crochet wonderfully, but to offer a couple of master classes, how readers will immediately reach out to you. nine0003
👉🔗 How to Become an Influencer on Instagram Faster: 4 Effective Ways interesting content, tries to meet the expectations of readers. But at the same time, somewhere inside he hides fear. Fear that he will be misunderstood or fear that one day no one will need him.
✔️Therefore, he writes what subscribers demand from him. He will never ban anyone, even if it is a complete inadequate, constantly writing nasty things. nine0003
✔️Instead, this ghost will either pretend not to notice the vile comments, or start making excuses, trying to prove that he is not a giraffe.
✔️For fear of being misunderstood and forgotten, Ghost No. 3 will never write what he wants, what asks from his heart, but will continue to write what is required of him.
✔️At the same time, he is a really cool blogger, and self-doubt and fear make him a ghost.
✔️If he sells goods or offers services on Instagram, it is very cheap. If this is a blogger, then he sells cheap advertising. nine0003
✔️And despite the fact that the desired result is still missing, he will continue to perform the same actions: make cool content, sell cheaply and hope that sooner or later everything will work out.
✔️But we have already said more than once that if you do the same thing all the time in the same way, then the result will be the same. Therefore, such a ghost needs to change, cease to be ideal, discard fears, not adapt to the requirements of readers, but finally become itself. nine0003
✔️ And then everything will definitely work out, you just have to take a step away from the already worked out, but wrong path.
👉🔗 Why is it important to be able to change your point of view?
❗️Surely you have met ghost accounts on Instagram more than once, and perhaps you suddenly recognized yourself in one of them.
