How much does kylie jenner make from instagram

How much money does Kylie Jenner make from social media posts?

Kylie Jenner is renowned as one of the highest earning social media presences in the world.

Not only does she belong to one of the most famous and influential families in pop-culture, but the billionaire also wields vast amounts of individual influence over the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries.

As of 2022, it has been reported that Kylie Jenner earns between $673,528 to $1 million per Instagram post, according to Influencer Marketing Hub.

Kylie Jenner has long dominated the social media landscape; carving out her own brand of influencer within these digital spheres.

Boasting a gargantuan Instagram following of over 371 million - the third most followed on the platform - Jenner has arguably been the most influential family member on social media.

During the family’s rise to celebrity-status through their reality-TV empire, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney lead the pack - with younger sisters Kendall and Kylie acting as supplementary characters within the show.

However, as the Jenner sisters grew older and social media rose to popularity, Kylie emerged as a fan favourite and established herself as a more 'relatable' celebrity (a paradox in itself) as she documented her seemingly unfiltered everyday life through both Instagram and Snapchat stories.

During 2015 to 2018, Kylie’s presence in the cultural zeitgeist was predominantly ubiquitous.

Her popularity and influence was rapidly rising, even changing her Instagram name to ‘King Kylie’ - emblematic of her near social-media domination.

Eventually, Jenner capitalised her mass influence - particularly the obsession around her lips - by launching Kylie Cosmetics and her first release of Kylie Lip Kits at the end of 2015.

This brand swiftly grew into the billion-dollar company it is today, its expeditious growth a very likely consequence of her pop-cultural superiority at that time.

Despite the 24-year-old’s social media presence becoming more allusive and private after the birth of her daughter Stormi in 2018, Jenner maintained her platinum status in terms of compensation, as she was crowned the highest paid on Instagram in 2020.

Even now in 2022, despite significantly decreasing her social media activity, Jenner’s ruling influence remains. This is evidenced in her recent criticisms of Instagram, claiming the platform’s recent changes are not what the people want.

In a story post, Jenner shared an image that read: “Make Instagram Instagram again. (stop trying to be tiktok i just want to see cute photos of my friends.) Sincerely, everyone.”, with the word “PLEASEEEEEEE” accompanying it.

The fast and hard media storm that followed, clearly saw the weight and potential influence of Kylie’s criticism.

Only in 2018, after Snapchat made changes in the apps interface, Jenner tweeted her thoughts: “sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.”

As a result, within the same week, Snapchat’s parent company had lost $1.3 billion in market value.

The culture of paying celebrities huge amounts of money to post content to their millions of followers has been heavily criticised.

Some say fans may change their behaviour or opinion based on the post's content, when the celebrity they idolise may only have been posting it for money.

Critics also say it gives young people unrealistic or unambitious career aspirations when they see the money that celebrities are making from posting.

But others think it is less of a problem in a celebrity culture industry that is already worth billions of pounds.
