Scroll sown for new updates that have been added at the end of the article

So apparently Facebook Messenger is down…and people have been freaking out. Did you know that your phone can ALSO make phone calls to contact people? (Source)
So facebook messenger is down in case anyone was wondering… (Source)
A large number of reports said only the app was down, meaning users could still access the service through other platforms like desktop. However, given the fact that a large majority of users likes to chat on the go, the problem quickly became a big deal.
While the worst seems to be over, there are still reports about the service not being accessible. However, it’s reasonable to assume these are just the final wave of users, for whom the problem will get resolved shortly.
In case the problem persists for long, do let us know by dropping a comment below. We’ll update the story accordingly.

How Soon Do Posts Disappear When You Deactivate Facebook? | Small Business
By Carolyn Luck
Account deactivation enables Facebook members to drop out of sight on the social network with just a few clicks. The deactivation process takes less than a minute, and the results are immediate. Although some content remains visible with limitations, any data that will be deleted will be immediately gone. Whether you’re cleaning up your online reputation or simply taking a break from Facebook, you can disappear from view instantly with Facebook account deactivation.
Immediate Results
-
Upon completion of the quick account deactivation process, your account will immediately disappear from view on the social network. You will not appear in friend lists or search results, and friends will no longer be able to see your Timeline. Facebook will save all of your content, including your Timeline, photos, status updates and anything else you posted, should you wish to come back. Any content that is going to disappear will do so as soon as you confirm account deactivation.
Remaining Posts
-
Although your Timeline will disappear from view along with anything it contains, some posts appearing on your friends’ pages, group walls, business pages and other places on Facebook may remain visible. For example, if you are tagged in a photo on a friend’s page, your name will still appear on the photo, but it will not be in the form of a clickable link. Also, messages you’ve sent may still be visible in friends’ inboxes. However, no one will have the ability to interact with remaining tags, messages or other content containing your photo or name, as your account will be inaccessible until it is activated.
Account Deactivation
-
To deactivate your Facebook account, click the gear-shaped Settings icon in the upper-right corner of any page. Select the “Account Settings” option and choose “Security” from the left sidebar. Follow prompts to confirm the deactivation of your account. To reactivate your account, simply log in with your existing email address and password. Members who deactivate their account multiple times may be required to wait at least 24 hours after logging in for full account activation.
Account Deletion
-
To permanently delete your account, go to the Deleting, Deactivating & Memorializing Accounts page (see link in Resources), and click the “How Do I Deactivate My Account?” link below the Deactivating Accounts heading. Select the “Click Here” link and follow prompts to complete account deletion. Be aware that Facebook account deletion is irreversible. If you should decide to come back to Facebook in the future, you’ll need to create an entirely new account. Friend lists, photos and any other content once associated with your account will have been erased.

Elon Musk: paid verification will return despite the chaos with fake accounts owner, caused chaos on the social platform.
The media platform suspended its recently announced $8 blue tick subscription service last Friday after a flood of fake accounts paid for by impostors was approved by the moderation team. nine0003
Instead of the blue tick, Musk returned the "official" badge to some VIP accounts on Twitter.
Paid verification immediately sparked widespread controversy on the platform after Musk stated that the price increase and rule change was necessary to increase the company's revenue, as well as to solve, in his words, one of the "biggest problems of the platform - fake accounts "According to the new rules introduced by Musk, any user can pay for verification.
Previously, the blue verification checkmark was available only for accounts of politicians, famous people, journalists and public figures. nine0003
However, the ability to pay for verification, provided to anyone, soon led to the fact that a lot of verified accounts immediately appeared on the platform, posing as large companies and famous personalities.
One account posing as American pharmaceutical mega-company Eli Lilly, which makes millions in diabetes control drugs, using the username @EliLillyandCo announced that insulin is now "free".
Many Americans who need insulin daily have to pay hundreds of dollars regularly for this medicine. nine0003
The share price of pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company plummeted after a tweet went viral.
Other accounts have posed as politicians: two accounts have caused confusion by posing as former US President George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who allegedly spoke scathingly about the military campaign in Iraq.
"So missed killing Iraqis," Fake Bush wrote, to which Fake Blair responded with a riposte: "To tell you the truth, so did I." nine0003
There was even an account pretending to be Jesus Christ that got a verification checkmark after paying $8. Numerous commentators immediately reacted cheerfully to the appearance of the Twitter-Christ to the people: someone asked to predict the winning numbers of the lottery. The self-proclaimed Jesus answered with 5 numbers.
There are many accounts posing as Elon Musk himself. The real Musk was quick to clarify that impostors and parody would be heavily regulated on the platform, after which he suspended the Twitter Blue feature. nine0003
Recently, Twitter owner Elon Musk, who is also the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, said on Sunday, November 13 that Twitter Blue will return to users "probably by the end of next week." During this time, the social network will have to thoroughly revise the process of moderating applications for paid verification.
After the world's richest man bought Twitter for $44 billion, he promptly introduced sweeping changes to the company's management, including laying off thousands of employees. nine0003
On Sunday, Musk announced that Twitter would soon allow organizations to list other accounts on his social network as affiliated or unaffiliated.
"Very soon," Musk announced in a tweet, "Twitter will allow organizations to determine which other Twitter accounts are actually associated with them. "
Musk raised the possibility of the social platform going bankrupt by issuing a statement on Thursday, the day former head of trust and security Yoel Roth left the company. nine0003
In his first corporate email, sent to all employees, Musk announced that Twitter would not be able to "survive the coming economic downturn" unless it could increase subscription revenue to make up for the drop in advertising revenue.
On Thursday, the US Federal Trade Commission said it was watching Twitter with "deep concern."
Roskomnadzor started blocking Instagram in Russia. What about whatsapp?
Today, March 11, it became known that the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation demanded that Roskomnadzor restrict access to Instagram, due to the fact that Meta (the company that owns the services) allowed its users to call for violence against the Russian military. This means that serious restrictions can be imposed on all Meta applications, up to total blocking. In the article, we understand in detail what is the matter and discuss all the nuances of blocking Instagram and WhatsApp. nine0003
Instagram will be restricted in Russia. This is exactly.
Not so long ago we already told you about the blocking of Facebook and Instagram in Russia. Earlier, Roskomnadzor had already begun to slow down Facebook , and recently completely blocked Facebook in Russia . Today there was news that the same account is waiting for Instagram, but first things first.
5 games that will soon disappear from Google Play in Russia. What to replace.
Instagram will be blocked in Russia
Just today, Meta spokesman Andy Stone announced on Twitter that the company will not block Instagram and Facebook users who call for violence against Russian military personnel in the comments.
Instagram blocking is not unreasonable.
In addition, Meta has informed that comments with insults to higher officials will also not be blocked. This change will affect the countries of Eastern Europe.
Naturally, many users immediately reacted to this innovation. Is Meta itself promoting violence in its apps? Along with this, many actively began to promote their Telegram channels, because most likely it will not be possible to contact Instagram soon. nine0003
Already today, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that Roskomnadzor restrict access to Instagram if Meta confirms this fact or refuses to comment on the situation.
A couple of hours ago, Roskomnadzor published a document according to which Instagram will be restricted in Russia in the near future:
Based on the requirement of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, access to the Instagram social network in the Russian Federation will be limited to . The Instagram social network distributes informational materials containing calls to commit violent acts against citizens of the Russian Federation, including military personnel, the message says. nine0003
A little later, Roskomnadzor announced that Instagram will block on March 14 at 00:00 Moscow time. Now you can save all the data to your devices so as not to lose them. Instructions for saving data from Instagram see below.
Will WhatsApp be blocked in Russia
It is clear that after such statements from Meta, the Russian authorities reacted to the situation extremely quickly. However, not everything is clear from the message of Roskomnadzor. Whatsapp remains the big question. On the one hand, if Meta is recognized as an extremist organization, then WhatsApp will be turned off in Russia almost immediately. Facebook and other services of the company will also go there. nine0003
There is no data on blocking WhatsApp yet.
However, if you carefully re-read the messages of Roskomnadzor, there is no talk of blocking Meta . It clearly states: access to the social network Instagram in Russia will be limited to . It turns out that WhatsApp will not be affected?
Although at the moment there is no information about blocking WhatsApp in Russia , it could easily happen in the near future. I know that many readers have important correspondence stored in messengers. I recommend that you now backup WhatsApp and transfer all chats to Telegram. This will help you save all the important information. nine0003
